          1. @rotation Aaaah. Also 'linux'. Should we all be using linux now? ...to be honest it looks like some sort of MS DOS nostalgia to my pony blinkers...

            1. @pawnheart Linux is MS DOS Nostalgia? What? No, really, what?

Monday, 19-Mar-12 12:51:33 UTC from Choqok
              1. @omni a long story, probably not worth the telling! Just forget it...

                1. @pawnheart And yet another person says Linux is bad without explaining why :P

Monday, 19-Mar-12 12:53:20 UTC from Choqok
                  1. @omni pay very little heed to my comment there... I really have very little Linux experience.

                    1. @pawnheart Okay then, won't bother you with Linux-related stuff unless you request more info :P

                      1. @omni A good plan! Seriously, I know little enough about Windows...

              2. @omni Funny, my dislike for MS DOS formed one of the many reasons why I *switched* to Linux in the first place.

                          1. @silverbrony Wise. Seriously, it's not worth it.I went on once to see what all the hubbub was about. I read a single thread and did a digital runner, as fast as my cyber-legs could carry my mane-frame.

                          1. @aldag71 I've got to say, however... that without /b/... we probably wouldn't be here. Or we'd just all be referring to ourselves as "colts". The night is darkest before dawn...

                  2. @pawnheart I don't mind informing you about Linux. You'll need a chair and a few hours of spare time though.

Monday, 19-Mar-12 13:02:02 UTC from Choqok
                2. @toksyuryel The oldest MS DOS I've used was cmd.exe on Windows 95, does that count?

Monday, 19-Mar-12 13:01:39 UTC from Choqok
                  1. @omni Oldest I've used was the same on Windows 98. Incidentally, Windows 98 is also the oldest *Windows* that I've used. And I don't mean SE either.

Monday, 19-Mar-12 13:03:35 UTC from web
                    1. @toksyuryel Hmmm, okay o,o I personally switched because I got sick of spending at least a few hours a week on system maintenance like defragging and cleaning the registry. When I was told Linux did not use a registry I couldn't wait to try it out. And it is true, unlike Windows, a year-old installation can run as fast as it ran the day it was installed :P

Monday, 19-Mar-12 13:06:15 UTC from Choqok
                      1. @omni Sometimes even faster!

Monday, 19-Mar-12 13:07:22 UTC from web
                        1. @toksyuryel True... I haven't done any maintenance on my Windows installation in half a year. It literally takes 3 minutes to boot and another 5 until I can start a program. It's horrifying, I don't even want to go back, it'll take forever to fix it again...

Monday, 19-Mar-12 13:09:36 UTC from Choqok
                          1. @omni Last time I had Windows installed on any of my computers was in 2005. Have not touched it at all since switching ^^

Monday, 19-Mar-12 13:11:16 UTC from web
                            1. @toksyuryel I wish I could do that, but my owner sometimes wants to play Ragnarok Online with me and there is no way in hell that junk runs under WINE =/

Monday, 19-Mar-12 13:12:09 UTC from Choqok
                              1. @omni Which is kinda funny because the server likely *does*.

Monday, 19-Mar-12 13:14:38 UTC from web
                                1. @toksyuryel It get's worse. Samsung wants me to use Windows-only software to manage my Android (Linux-based) phone. So, yeah, screw them, I manage it my way :P

Monday, 19-Mar-12 13:16:16 UTC from Choqok
                                  1. @omni *gets - Seriously Omni, GRAMMAR?

Monday, 19-Mar-12 13:16:48 UTC from Choqok
                                  2. @omni Oi! Such a weird market.

Monday, 19-Mar-12 13:17:22 UTC from web
                              2. @omni That reply may have been a little vague… I meant that the server likely runs native, not under WINE.
