  1. why do people want to have vista instead of windows 7? This is what I see.

    1. @luminosity Maybe the nicer interface? IDK. I want my XP back.

      1. @nerthos Why do people like to make things more difficult?

          1. @nerthos user friendly stuff. DERP

            1. @luminosity About OSs? Well, I personally found XP far more appealing than Windows 7. 7 tries to do everything by itself, and hours are needed to do simple things without the thing interfering. I had to spend days mutilating it to be usable.

                    1. @luminosity But they lack some of the simple advantages of the sword. The sword I can control at will, the whip, I must flow with.

                      1. @nerthos Indiana Jones used a whip and it worked wonders for him.

                        1. @luminosity Yes, he used one. But did he used it for proper combat? No, he didn't.

                          1. @nerthos Catwomen also used a whip as a weapon. So.....

                            1. @luminosity They're both fictional characters. Tell me of a real warrior who did in a battle or something. And Zorro doesn't count.

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 11:11:32 UTC from web
                              1. @nerthos So you want be to name a time where a whip was used as a weapon when it is classified as a weapon. Catwoman used on, Indiana Jones used one, Zorro used one. A whip is not a fictional device. they were used to HURT people. Whips are very dangerous.

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 11:14:47 UTC from web
                                1. @luminosity No, I want you to name an event when a whip was sucefully used on a real combat enviorment aganist other weapons. They are weapons, that's true. They can hurt. But so does an edged spoon, but noone in their right mind would use it in combat.

                                    1. @luminosity That's a MOVIE. You honestly have no proof or even idea of what you're saying, have you?

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 11:22:12 UTC from web
                                      1. @nerthos I was saying that there is a time and a place for a weapon. All weapons are effective. that is why they are called weapons.

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 11:23:55 UTC from web
                                        1. @luminosity Yeah, but we're comparing two weapons on the same field. If we're going into that then we should all switch into linux because it's like a gun in a knifefight.

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 11:26:13 UTC from web
                                          1. @nerthos it all depends on the wielder and the scenario. I think we could both agree it would be an interesting fight.

                                            1. @luminosity Swordmasters can stop arrows aimed at them with a sword. Proven fact, recorded on video multiple times. Beat that.

                                                1. @luminosity I'm not a swordmaster yet. And it's only a game of ranges. The whip could be slowly cut or entangled to something using the enviroment.

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 11:37:43 UTC from web
                                                  1. @nerthos Or you get your finger whipped off or get your legs wrapped up and get pulled on the ground. Have you ever had your jugular cut open with a whip and bleed to death?

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 11:41:28 UTC from web
                                                    1. @luminosity I've bled to death on numerous occasions.

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 11:44:43 UTC from StatusNet Android
                                                      1. @redenchilada At least you can relate XD

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 11:45:04 UTC from web
                                                    2. @luminosity You're just now talking about personal skill. A whip is an impractical combat weapon because it requires a lot of skill to use, lots of free space around the user, and a friendly enviorment. A sword you can even use inside a small room.

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 11:46:50 UTC from web
                                                      1. @nerthos Then you should not of compared a weapon which takes an obvious amount mastery to use and compared it to a long sword. A whip is a practical weapon or it would not be classified as a weapon. In a scenario where both weilders help the same mastery there is no telling what would happen. You cannot assume that a sword would win just like I cannot assume a whip would win. The situation is far fetched because we live in a modern time with much better weapons. I am sure that any battle where a long sword fought a guy with a whip is long lost or is undocumented. I am just saying that a whip is a practical weapon.

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 11:55:39 UTC from web
                                                        1. @luminosity It's funny how we completely missed the original point and starting discussing ancient weapons.

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 11:57:08 UTC from web
                                                          1. @nerthos you made a bad comparison and I said whips were cool> then the conversation was like WHAT

                                                              1. @nerthos Which is why you helped me win. A whip is hard to use, but once mastered it is highly effective.

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 12:03:12 UTC from web

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 12:06:02 UTC from web

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 12:07:58 UTC from web

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 12:09:31 UTC from web

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 12:12:18 UTC from web

Wednesday, 28-Mar-12 12:13:02 UTC from web

                            2. @luminosity The reason catwoman uses a whip is because it requires so much training to be effective with. She uses it specifically so no one can use it against her.

                                1. @luminosity Exactly- it requires skill. It requires a LOT of skill. Which is why catwoman uses it- her opponents will not have the skill to use it because they're unlikely to have received any training with its use.
