          @redenchilada It's the convenience factor: if it goes to voicemail immediately after your call has failed to get through, there's a much lower perceived (possibly also actual, but I don't have the evidence to say either way) effort cost to leaving a message at the voicemail that automatically comes up, rather than hanging up and typing out a text.

            @spectrumscramble The concept just annoys me. If I'm listening to someone's voice, I want to be able to respond in real-time.
