I both laughed and cried for Scootaloo when she took that picture of the baby birds. At first I thought maybe the writers just didn't have any reason to make Scootaloo fly, but the latest episode convinced me otherwise. I'm just really curious about why she can't fly.

@eaglehooves If that's the case I'd like to know whether that's common for pegasus ponies. I mean, in Hurricane Fluttershy there was that colt who looked about the same age as Scootaloo, but he was encouraged to participate just the same.

@pony Hm... The way she flapped without actually getting lift would make it seem common, but it's not. Actually, we've seen even fairly heavy pegasi get airborne. Maybe she's just made of dark matter or something.

@eaglehooves yep.. I mean Roid Rage pony has crazy small wings for his size.. Plus we've seen Pound Cake and the two foals at the end of season 1 episode 2 (who place the wreath around Luna) all fly.
