@pony it was ALOT more random and the timeline was a constant riot. The people were more of a group of friends as opposed to more of a "family" as i see it nowadays. Everyone had their own thing they contributed and were known for and now everyone just runs together. The people nowadays are still good people for the most part, but they're much too silent asitwere.

@nvrrmbr You just gave me a Rarity flashback. I think it feels like a family is that everypony can just be themselves here. Even when we get on each other's nerves it seems like most forgive easily. I do feel closer to the more active core of RDN's users though. Anyway it's true we may not know each other but the fact tha we all share an interest in something so outside of the norms of our society kind of makes things feel more intimate.

@pony I will admit that RDN is a tightly knit society, but it's lost it's true intentions. This site was built around friendship, hell, it's even "brought to you by the power of friendship". I feel distant to them frankly because I don't like them. Simple as that. I just don't like the new RDN. Call me an old fuddy-duddy, but it's true. I'm a cranky old man and I want things to be how they used to be. But most of all, I miss the old users. The ones who left. @starshine particularly. I miss him. Once he left, RDN just started to... Seem less interesting for me. Then someone very close to me, @ponyveteran left, and that was simply too much. I lost it, I stopped liking this place and the people. Maybe I'm the lost one. Well now I'm ranting, aren't I?

@nvrrmbr No I think I get it. Missing old friends can be rough. That's the hard part about most any online community I think.. We come and go. Even in communities where I've felt extremely attached, I've ultimately left them.. Something feels different about this fandom though. I hope that difference turns out to be a good thing

@nvrrmbr I have a few extra minutes.. I've enjoyed the show since I was little in the 80s as well. I'm thinking about PPG specifically. They were great for about 4 seasons give or take then meh.. Anyway, I'll be very interested to see how this particular fandom takes the and of the show (or at least the end of good episodes)

@nvrrmbr They're already making episodes is the interesting thing. I've never seen that in a fan community before.. Granted it's not like I've devoted myself to many a fandom in the past. I think fim-fiction and art might perpetuate the feeling of these good old days in the future, but you never can be sure.

@pony People were [i]alot[/i] more lenient back then, too. I honestly am not sure which one I prefer because site evolution has changed it and it will continue to change. Dwelling on the old days of here just feels stupid, but it's history I suppose.

@alargesmallhorse Different in a good way? No. This is a change I haven't been happy about, let me tell you that. Remember when RDN was built around friendship and not clopping? Remember when the popular notice bar had notices from Delc that actually meant something and not two notices of people begging for favorites? I miss those days, back when there was meaning to people's dashes.

@nvrrmbr Well even then there were calls for attention, but nowadays... WHOO! Man, pretty much every notice is a call for attention from some of the people. Wish we could go back to the days before this became "lol, sexual innuendo is so funneh" Network most of all. Some of the people nowadays on here are just godawful, but there are still people I enjoy talking to. It's about limiting yourself and exposure to the masses, much like what the fandom itself was initially.

@alargesmallhorse Unfortunately, the "big man" of RDN, Ceruleanspark, just encourages the damn sexual innuendo. Most of RDN's user base is young, pubescent guys, who find the stuff funny, so he's just pandering to the audience.

@ceruleanspark As far as I've seen, no timezone seems to be "generally Cerulean-free." Upon taking this last week off to gather myself, I really don't want to fight with you, man. You're right that I probably shouldn't be the one to complain about you to any extent no matter if you've done things that I don't agree with at all but generally, I don't want our rivalry to carry on like such and I am sorry for constantly speaking out against you all as I have.
