@derpyshy I'll just tell you. The first one would be Terranigma, it is not that famous because it never aired in the US. It has an interesting story, is quite challenging and has awesome music. It also features my favorite scene of video games of all time.

@derpyshy The second one would be Chrono Trigger - with characters drawn from Akira Toriyama and a storyline which is legendary, it has become that immortal that it was re-released some years ago for the DS - and the fandom rejoiced. The battle system is unique and one of the best I know - and the story is rather unlinear for japanese RPGs.
