                          @toksyuryel Science claims that deja vu is actually caused by the brain accidentally writing short-term memories to the long-term section. I call bullcherries because I can remember remembering things that hadn't happened yet before they happen. So, yeah, I know what you mean, I think, to a degree.

                            @scribus Thing is, deja vu is to feel that you already lived a situation. A prophetic dream/premonition lets you know how the situation will end, and in my case change the result at will.

                                @scribus I'm getting longer and longer dreams with time, or sometimes even without the dream, just knowing the situation when it starts. I'm at ~10 seconds right now. If I'm able to reach 1 minute, then I'll be like my tabletop paladin :D

                                @scribus This is often the case with me, but sometimes I realize it before it's complete and the act of my recognition completely changes the events following after that moment. This was very good in one case where the dream ended in disaster but I recognized it before then and knew to choose different actions and averted this from happening.

                            @scribus Yeah, same with me. I remember having these dreams because I remember how confused they always left me when I woke up from them. Like wtf is this website? Why was this so detailed? Why was I talking about high-end ATI cards? And then it's soon filed away and forgotten until, one day, the event happens and the memory of the dream comes back clear as day.

                                @dezzierose Trouble is I don't *know* they're prophetic until the event actually happens, and telling anyone about a dream before then seems to preclude the events of that dream from happening. It evidently only works with dreams that I forget within about an hour and never share. There are a few potential explanations for this, the most reasonable of which is that since the predictions are always mundane things the dreams are never interesting enough to share or remember. Perhaps I could try sharing *every* dream I have?
