    2. @darkw00d Negative. I hate everything. Everyone else here is sad about something or other.

      1. @abigpony i am not sad :)

Wednesday, 16-May-12 09:23:15 UTC from web
      2. @abigpony I've been very happy for the past week actually! I'll start being sad again tomorrow night though.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:14:41 UTC from web
        1. @toksyuryel Why is that? I never get anything off of you in terms of personality because all I ever see of you is coding stuff.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:17:06 UTC from web
          1. @abigpony The coding stuff is why I've been happy. There's normally someone else here who seems to have made it his mission in life to keep me depressed and that makes it very difficult to get any work done. He's been on vacation for the past week so I've been able to be very productive for a change. I'm hoping I can keep the momentum going once he gets back but I dunno how it'll all work out.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:19:02 UTC from web
            1. @toksyuryel someone else "here" as in where you work or something or on this site? I am very happy in the fact that you take pride in being productive as well as your line of work.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:22:08 UTC from web
              1. @abigpony Someone who lives with me.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:23:15 UTC from web
    3. @darkw00d actually, yeah. That picture is annoying and too "tender" in what it's trying to convey. it's also a little creepy. I hate everything because I just like to criticize and find faults in things because I realize nothing is perfect. About the whole "sad" thing: that's about half the time on here. It's good though because the people who do it are usually nice outside of it and there are usually a few people who ignore that stuff or find humor in their misery like myself.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 09:21:26 UTC from web
      1. @abigpony Criticising is great and it makes a ton of fun! Most importantly: do not insult the artist by being rude. To the picture sent to you: I don't like either this kind of portayal. It implies that the show character has an emotion towards the viewer, which is impossible. I think it is a sign of a weak personality to get overly invested into a fictional character. Also: Bevel layer effect die in hell. This effect always looks very cheap and destroys the over all impression of the image.

        1. @broniebrown This is a good man. I admit that I usually do end up being rude about it and stuff, though. Well explained, though.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 09:54:46 UTC from web
        2. @broniebrown "Sign of a weak personality" huh?

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:06:30 UTC from web
          1. @hakupony I mean escapism in special. Denial of reality and living in a dream.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 12:06:51 UTC from Choqok
    4. @darkw00d No it didn't. I'm not necessarily negative everywhere as much as here, this is just the only place I talk about ponies and bronies and there's just so much in that to criticize. There are ALWAYS faults.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 09:26:15 UTC from web
    5. @darkw00d Well, Bronies pretty dumb, by and large.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 09:29:52 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
    6. @darkw00d There's just always so much stuff going on in the community and so many stupid people doing stupid things in the name of it that it's just easier to see the gaping hole than the bridge.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 09:31:29 UTC from web
    7. @darkw00d >Pretty bright bunch. You don't...interact with the brony community at large much, do you?

Wednesday, 16-May-12 09:32:03 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
      1. @ceruleanspark well that'd depend on the kind of knowledge you're talking about. most of them are nerds and stuff so they're bright in that aspect, but when it comes to practical knowledge and stuff, not so much.

    9. @darkw00d Bronies buying add time on the hub to "thank" them for broadcasting the show. With the added bonus that some questionably ethical individuals have managed to secure a on it as well.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 09:39:29 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
    10. @darkw00d one of what people? you don't seem to be making bad decisions as much as remaining oblivious to stupidity.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 09:40:58 UTC from web
    11. @darkw00d Well I'm not saying to deny what you like, but at the same time I'm not saying to be a flamboyant idiot about it. Stand up for your interests and hobbies and beliefs no matter what the stigma attached to them is, just don't go about it in a negative fashion as you have obviously seen so many others do. There is no reason to deny liking the show or even the fanbase as long as YOU give it a good name

    12. @darkw00d The organisers of the Canterlot Gardens have bought ad-space through the project to advertise their con. However, they stand accused of performing acts ranging from illegal (actual theft of money) to simply unethical (bribing the VA's agents to do an end-run around conventions using the approved booking process). These accusations are unverifiable, and the person who made them has certainly done their best to destroy their own reputation in the process of making them, but still, someone should have thought twice before giving them the slot.

    13. @darkw00d The thing is to remember standards and know right from wrong and we're so big that the wrong people are forgetting this. We're supposed to keep them in line and we don't do it enough. Every apple does have bad seeds but you're supposed to make sure you don't get them down. They can be as idiotic and wacko as they'd like, just don't get anyone else involved with it.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:02:05 UTC from web
      1. @abigpony To keep them in line? What kind of authority would we have o do that?

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:03:25 UTC from web
        1. @hakupony Don't cave in to them? There are people who endorse apples that goes on and apparently there's alot or whatever. http://ur1.ca/98zis

          1. @abigpony Those people are Bronies as well - and there are aspects of the fandom I personally don't like and rather would not want there. There will neverbe a fandom police and every weird idea will find it's followers. I don't mind though since I do not think that Bronies are better people.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:10:26 UTC from web
            1. @hakupony I get that it has it's followers, but they usually only go so far.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:13:38 UTC from web
    14. @darkw00d Again, it all comes back to the "bad apple in every bushel" philosophy where there are just a couple people who ruin it for the rest. The fact that we like a show that was initially made for little girls has nothing to do with anything and people seem to like to use it as an excuse all too often. The quote “You are not special. Your are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You are the same decaying organic matter as everything else.” comes to mind with bronies and my views on the matter of using them as an excuse.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:12:08 UTC from web
    15. @darkw00d It's just that i don't think that a personality can't be weak. You can have a weak will, weak emotions or weak rationality - but a weak personality?

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:13:06 UTC from web
    16. @darkw00d I'm not part of any other fandom, but I know there are fandoms that do the same thing that are smaller.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:14:17 UTC from web
    17. @darkw00d 99% of what happens politically will be forgotten in 100 years as well. I personally think that MLP FiM has the potential to be remembered - it depends on how the creation of gender roles in children television develops. Because of science, we remember all kinds of things - there are scientific books which mention He Man.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:16:27 UTC from web
    18. @darkw00d then explain it if they ask. I really don't see enough reason to cause complications on either part.

Wednesday, 16-May-12 10:20:14 UTC from web
    19. @darkw00d School textbooks are not everything that get's remembered. To get back to He Man - everypony knows certain parodies where i live - and many things established by that show still are arount. And He Man wasn't even good. Society changes but it develops on the things that are in the society :)

    20. @darkw00d and you should stand up for what you like as a response. It's not too difficult. The best offense is a good defense.
