    So, ehmm, silly question mayhaps... But isn't "a depression" just smancyfancytalk for "feeling bummed out" ?

      @critialcloudkicker Depression doesn't necessarily equate to sadness. And typically it has a longer lasting effect than "feeling bummed out".

        @mrmattimation I am still under the impression that "depression" is actually a word for people whom actually can't get out of bed because their "bummed out ness feeling" is too great ( and they can't handle it ). However popular language has kind of overwritten the medical and technical term

          @critialcloudkicker That's why I don't think I have "real" depression. It's not nearly as severe as people who have "actual" depression and I feel like I'm just being a baby about being bored all the time.
