I'm totally nostalgiaing over what I use to do before I came here. ;_; I use to be a hacker on a game called Mabinogi, I was the guy who could fly and generate gold and items out of nowhere. It was fun and I learned quite bit about asm and ollydbg from it. ;_;

@ceruleanspark Eh, I've always found people to hate hackers/crackers. I tried to not be a jerk about it, but that's kind of hard when your general public image is "that jerk who cheats for himself and makes the game worse." xD

@minti There are two kinds of hackers/crackers in games: the ones that run around killing everything to bananas off people, and the ones who just have fun and make the staff rage. The second group are generally seen as heroes.

@nerthos I was generally against the 1st group, and tried to crusade against them. It was REALLY bad, like you could kill friendly NPCs with hacks, remotely kill bosses without awarding the party their exp, crash channels and servers, etc. I tried to help people get around this by compensating them, or even reviving npcs and stuff when possible. :/

@minti So the game was complete anarchy? That makes sense. I used cheats in some MMOs to bypass bugs and things like that, like broken door scripts and such. And then I was an admin in some WoW servers, and half the server hated me for interacting as a player with the rest of the userbase, and the other half loved me for the exact same reason. Like "hey, there's 10 people on, let's do a 25 man raid, I'll help you"

@minti If you ever want to play, get a 3.35 client. It was the last good version, and I have a server on my disk, two minute startup and it's running.

@nerthos I've got 3.3.3a already installed, I decided to try setting up my own server. Was easy as heck to compile mangos/scriptdev2 and get it running. xD

@bee815 A good year and a half, before some hacker found a way to delete characters. I was able to protect myself for a bit but eventually they got me. I haven't played since.

@minti It'd be fun to do something like that, though I doubt I'd last long. I'm terrible at video games 'sides FPSers. (A grasshopper killed me the first and only time I played runescape, and haven't touched any game besides TF2 since.

@minti Yeah, my friends and I play TF2 (and every once in a while Halo) all the time. Also I play a lot of airsoft, whether that helps I don't really know.

@bee815 Do not forget that you can get 250 gree gold if you like the creator ( high res ) on Facebook. Which is about enough to get tou a class you think you'd like from the get-go. I,d reccommend Juggernaut if you like artillery spam, or Doombringer if you like defending. Finally infiltrator if you like TF2 enforcer spy and explosives.

@critialcloudkicker @bee815 Friendly warning from me: It's by Hi-Rez Studios, a company that's quite fond on letting an "updater" constantly run on your system and letting your system share updates with other people that need to update as torrent traffic, the same way Akamai does it without telling you in any way. Not saying that means you shouldn't play it, but I'm just putting that out here so you can make sure to kill the process when you don't need it so it doesn't take unnecessary system resources and web traffic.
