  1. The best thing about modding Skyrim is that even if you're only loading official files (Skyrim.esm, Update.esm, Dawnguard.esm, Hearhtfire.esm and Dragonborn.esm) you have to sit through two minutes of constant error warnings detected by /their own modding software/ they didn't bother to fix.

    1. @nerthos I'm not having that and I have about 35 errors

      1. @scoot Could you reword? I can't understand your point

        1. @nerthos oops I meant mods got distracted not errors

          1. @scoot No, I mean when you're opening the files on creation kit, not the game itself. The program runs a scan on the files as it loads them and gives you dozens of errors it detects.

            1. @nerthos Ohhh right okay nevermind

              1. @scoot It's pretty amusing since there's no way Bethesda didn't got those errors before they released the game/modding toolkit

    2. @nerthos Dragonborn was a really cool DLC.

      1. @mrmattimation I'm about to try luck at making a castle mod since I can't find one that has a proper library and display room and isn't a cheat mod. The very few I found that have the stuff I need also have high end gear, followers, and a lot of other cheap cheating on them.

        1. @nerthos Perhaps you could get the ESMs for the mod you want, and if they aren't essential, pull out the cheat-y mods in the Creation Kit?

          1. @mrmattimation I could but I think it'll be more fun to try and make a custom tailored one for myself.

            1. @nerthos I've been wanting to try making a simple mod in the G.E.C.K for Fallout 3, but I wouldn't even know where to begin.

              1. @mrmattimation What do you want to make? I may be able to give you some tips.

                1. @nerthos I dunno, I thought it'd be cool to create apocalypse versions of my friends and I, maybe place my home town if that ends up not being too difficult.

                  1. @mrmattimation It's mostly a matter of patience, copying buildings and props from other areas, not much skill required. You can find tutorials on how to create new cells on the GECK wiki, and for the NPCs you can make characters for the facial data and then copy those faces over with the face exchanger program that's floating around.
