@randomkid I'm not upset by it. The others had their shining moments throughout the season and the finale finally gave Twilight hers along with her place as the Princess of Friendship.

@pony Well I can accept that but I just don't see Twilight as a fighter. Yeah the scene was awesome but I got mad because in the finale all the others did was kind of stand there, give their key then stand there again while they went all super saiyan or some mangoes.

@randomkid I feel like the finale featured the princesses more than usual instead so naturally they had to cut out some face time for the other mane 5, but at least they played a supporting role still by preparing Ponyville much like they did in the Crystal Empire except with less actually shown.

@randomkid I think I'm biased because Twilight has long been one of my favorite ponies. Same for Fluttershy, and even though she didn't play a major role, in any Discord episode she gets more lines automatically so that's a bonus.

@pony Well yeah I'm biased to because I am a die hard Rainbow Dash fan and I want some cool fight scenes with her. Applejack has more fight scenes.

@pony i think fictional writing about a fictional show about fictional characters is a little different than actual relationships. For example, any fanfic about killing and stuff isn't a reflection on how a characters mind works.

@flashmint I honestly wasn't a big fan of the S2 finale. Considering all premiers and finales, Canterlot Wedding just beats The Return of Harmony for second to last place. They're all good, but I didn't really feel a connection to Discord at first or to Chrysalis. #unpopularopinion

@flashmint This is going to sound weird, but I don't really watch it for the plot. My favorite part of Canterlot Wedding was seeing Twilight struggle and overcome emotional and social challenges. This is why Magical Mystery Cure is still one of my favorite episodes.

@flashmint I did really like the climactic power burst from Cadence and Shining, but they were very new characters and, again, I didn't feel very attached to them back then. The action sequence in Twilight's Kingdom blows every other action sequence out of the water of course.

@flashmint There obviously has to be some discernible story, but I see it as a tool for characterization rather than the main point of interest in shows I like.

@flashmint I love this conversation because we have such different opinions but we both somehow ended up really liking the finale. Fluttershy is tied with (or just ahead of) Twilight for favorite mane. A lot of fans say she lacks definite character, but I find the division in how she's written only makes her more interesting.

@flashmint no, not that I see much in luna, but that was the episode that I "officialy" watched that wad new at the time before it snowballed, to be honest I think I knew of the show before I ever knew there was a fandom, I just watched it out of interest, as a matter of fact the first episode I officially watched was applebuck season, and when I saw it I didn't think much of it, but that it was just another show for little girls but there was something in the back of my mind telling me that I have seen this type of animation/ writing from other shows and wasn't quite sure where but didn't dig deep into it until about august of 2011...

@flashmint I actually didn't know bronies existed when I first started watching, and just thought of it as my little "secret", plus how would that have looked if I was caught in my dorm watching ponies is what constantly popped in my mind, I kept thinking the other privates would of thought of me as some kind of pedophile and report me to my superior...

@flashmint It's been subtle, but since I'm so attached to the ponies' personalities it's stuck out for me. Like Pinkie has been way more over the top randumb, Twilight has been less quirky, and overall each character has lost some of their complexity. I blame the writers.
But yeah. When I first saw the show I didn't really like Fluttershy's characterization. It did and does still often feel a bit fake. At the same time I liked her design a lot and her voice is one of my favorites. I got past the rehearsed feeling when I made her into my own character in my head basically. @sligboss I was commenting about the Equestria Girls movie actually. I think fans were much more enthusiastic about the S4 finale due to the epic battle and lack of a mushy speech.

@pony oh, for some reason the trailers got me stoked for that movie, anyone can give their own judgment after seeing it, but I thought it was allright, however the new one is still giving me mixed messages of what is going to happen other than a musical, I mean that is fine and all...won't be able to see it in theaters though...and yes I saw the first one in theaters.

@sligboss Yep. I also dislike Blithe's design, but even that's better than EqG's unfortunately. Also, the animation doesn't feel as life-like. I too often see and feel flash puppets when I watch LPS and EqG. I still get that feel in FiM, but it's less frequent, maybe because it deals with quadrupeds and I'm not as intimately familiar with how they move in real life.

@sligboss Yeah, but I'm not around animals as much as I am people. I just mean it's easier to overlook things. The animation is still good in FiM, but it was better with Faust. I liked that she was committed to the equinity of the characters. Instead of fisticuffs, for example, she might favor stomping and dragging a hoof across the dirt menacingly.
