Didn't Rebecca Black respond really well to the criticisms anyway and come out with a second song that people liked better or ssomething though

@redenchilada She did as far as I know, but she didn't deserve to have sexual comments made about her, etc.

@pony Well yeah, a lot of the people involved were definitely in the wrong and I won't argue against that fact, but it seems silly to blame the moderation for something that's literally impossible to control. "They need more mods" is an easy thing to say, but who would honestly want to put themselves through that mess?

@redenchilada Like I said, lacking mods, the site needs to change it's system to make rules easier to enforce or find some other way to stop it, even if it means shutting down. Facebook seems to have its challenges, but it doesn't protect its users behind the veil of anonymity like 4chan.

@pony But anonymity also provides a lot of opportunities for good that can't be gotten anywhere else. It's a double-edged sword, really. And honestly if they shut down or changed, some other place would just pop up instead.

@redenchilada Or one of the other *chans would be the new hub

@scoot @redenchilada Also possible, and as each one gets too big for its own good it would need to be downsized or shut down until only smaller anonymous groups remained I think
Wednesday, 04-Jun-14 08:51:59 UTC from web-
@pony No, everyone would just go to a different website and it would be the same but it would be "5chan" instead of "4chan". Nothing would change

@scoot We just need a few more heroes in the world I think. Wanna be one?

@pony Dude, that's not cool. You can't just tell him to commit suicide

@pony I'd rather not be whatever you consider a hero.

@redenchilada I agree partly. I think smaller, more easily managed, anonymous communities would be good, which would be very likely to appear if 4chan became, er.. nonymous or shut down all of a sudden.
Wednesday, 04-Jun-14 08:50:43 UTC from web-
@pony That assumes good faith on the part of those running the communities, though. And considering what kind of people use 4chan and would put the splinter communities up, I wouldn't trust them to either keep their users under control or keep any logs that would help law enforcement if they were needed.

@redenchilada I suppose it could be considered the lesser evil to let 4chan remain. Fair point.

@redenchilada I mean at least with Facebook there's a way to purpse legal action against an offending individual if necessary.
