@vt3c What I needed was a high spec, highly portable, durable machine with a unix based OS and decent battery life. What I wanted was a computer that looked nice, ran well, was fairly quiet, and would last. Guess where the intersection of those two things lies?

@vt3c Photoshop & co is available for Windows too. In my opinion Apple is for those people who are rich, likes the OS interface, and likes to be locked in by a vendor.
