  1. Would "aliarchy" be an adequate name for Equestria's system of government, assuming it's ruled by alicorns? Is there a better word for that system?

    1. @pony It's a theocracy.

      1. @cinnamonswirl My fanon may or may not conflict, depending on who you claim as the god of Equestria, and whether a government ruled by a prophetess counts as a theocracy. Also, if alicorns either are or speak for the pony god, what does it mean for the faithful when Luna falls/apostatizes?

        1. @pony It means no more to them than Lucifers fall would have to the Christian faithful. Word of (remaining) God says it was necessary, they're faithful and believe as they're instructed by their lord.

          1. @cinnamonswirl In my doctrine, the fall of Lucifer meant the fall of a third part of the angels with him. Luna didn't seem to have that much of a following, or maybe we just haven't heard about it. Personally, I see Celestia as a translated being, prophetess, and seer. Though there's never been any definite record of a translated being becoming corrupted (like Luna) it may still be possible, yet a return to grace for such a being would be nigh impossible. Cain is rumored to have received immortality after his unforgivable transgression, for instance, but that's not reliable doctrine, afaik.

    2. @pony I'd say it is a Monarchy with strong elements of Technocracy, whereas the rules have to earn the right to rule by a peer review system with defined standards. Well... If the rulers are corrupt it could end up in favourism.

      1. @broniebrown How can it be a technocracy when they've only just mastered the automatic sewing machine

        1. @cinnamonswirl I meant that the princesses need to earn a title as scientists do with a doctor's degree, given the fact that friendship (magic) is a thing that can be learned and do science on in the MLP universe.
