@doct0rwhooves Yes. I believe he's staying until at least the end of series 8, if not further. Arthur Darvill and Karen Gillan (the Ponds) are due to leave some time in series 7, though.

@doct0rwhooves Mostly by following the Doctor Who fandom, though not nearly to the same degree I follow this fandom. In particular, the news segments of both http://www.radiofreeskaro.com/ and http://thedoctorwhopodcast.com/ are pretty useful for keeping up with what's going on around Doctor Who. :)

@doct0rwhooves Nope. I seem to remember that Moffett wanted to keep RTD-era characters mostly separated from the current show, so the series can stand on its own merits. But then again, given he was originally introduced via an episode Moffett wrote, it's entirely possible that if _anyone_ returns, it'd be him.

@lyrica In Torchwood, yes. His story path so far goes: late episodes of Doctor Who series 1 --> Torchwood series 1 --> finale of Doctor Who series 3 --> Torchwood series 2 --> finale of Doctor Who series 4 --> Torchwood: Children of Earth (aka series 3) --> Torchwood: Miracle Day (aka series 4).

@bitshift Think about it: 51st century resident, incorrigible flirt, squareness gun, time traveller... Jack has that whole year of memories missing, while River doesn't really know about her past (or is lying). They sound like similar set-ups. Then RTD hijacked Jack and turned him into Cardiff's poster boy.

@thelastgherkin I have my suspicions that she nicked the squareness gun from the TARDIS, given we never see Jack with his at any point after joining the series 1 TARDIS crew. But yeah, they serve essentially the same story purpose, except for the whole marriage thing. (Then again, perhaps the Doctor's pretty open-minded on that point?)
