Mario Kart Wii's gameplay is broken. I played Mario Kart Wii with friends before but since I own a Wii on my own I could get more insight in the mechanics. Most items are overpowered or near useless. I would remove the red and blue shells, the super mushroom, the golden mushroom, Bullet Bill, the POW block, the lightning, and the lightning cloud. Bananas and the red item blocks are near identical in their function but at least the bananas provide some protection against shells, so I'd scratch the item blocks. Overall I think that punishing players who play well and rewarding bad players is a horrible concept. I know that it is developed to provide fun for all players with different skill levels but it just maddening. On the bright side: the track designs are very good and diverse.

@broniebrown It's a kart racing game. If you want a boring experience play a NASCAR game.

@zeldatra I have nothing against kart racing games but I think the power-ups could be done a lot better. I played Re-Volt a lot and they have done great power-ups that didn't break the game so much.
