          1. @potatao Yeah, I kind of wanted to do night time shots with the thing, that's when you don't notice all the nicks and dings that drive me crazy :D

            1. @hawloween I am obsessed with night time shots, they look beautiful to me, and the challenge is fun as well! Also, it is a bit of a shame that the sky isn't exposed properly D: Do you have any more? :L

        2. @hawloween Yeah, your Celica fits the aesthetic of the shot too. Very oldschool, but in a nostalgic sort of way.

          1. @nethernarwhal That's why I love the car so much. But as I've come to know it it's more than just its looks that make me love it.

            1. @hawloween Really good engine specs?

Tuesday, 21-Oct-14 02:31:46 UTC from web
              1. @nethernarwhal For its time yes, and it's so easy to work on. It's like a perfect setup for doing a lot of things to, like turbocharging, and it takes it well. The suspension is fully independent. It's easy to swap most things outside of suspension arms on the car from something newer.

                1. @hawloween So it's pretty versatile, that's good. Gives you lots of flexibility with it.

                        1. @hawloween I may not have that much know how but I at least have decent enough taste not to get one of those

                          1. @nethernarwhal See I don't really mind them, they're just... really bad for what people ask for. They're known, at least the first few model years, for the subframe getting rotted to the point it will cut the kiwier in half if you beat on it.

                                1. @hawloween The safety rating was at least decent, or so I've heard

Tuesday, 21-Oct-14 02:56:02 UTC from web
                                  1. @nethernarwhal It was quite safe for what it was, I think actually the Celica Supra got lower ratings.

Tuesday, 21-Oct-14 03:02:10 UTC from web
                                    1. @hawloween It was mostly safe because it was so damn bulky

                                      1. @nethernarwhal Wait are we talking Fieros here? Or Firebirds?

                                        1. @hawloween I'm talking Fieros

Tuesday, 21-Oct-14 03:06:37 UTC from web
                                          1. @nethernarwhal ? Maybe second generation ones were bulky but not first gens... and both are smaller than my Celica is...

Tuesday, 21-Oct-14 03:08:26 UTC from web
                                            1. @hawloween Well, in terms of volume, the Celica is larger, but as far as I know (so this isn't necessarily confirmed) the Fiero is more massive.

Tuesday, 21-Oct-14 03:11:57 UTC from web
                                              1. @nethernarwhal Oh I hate to break it to you but at least Celica Supras outweigh the average Fiero GT by nigh half a tonne.

Tuesday, 21-Oct-14 03:14:10 UTC from web
                                                1. @hawloween I must've been comparing different models

    4. @hawloween Not bad. My dad's friend bought a Celica and is slowly getting it in shape, I learned last monday.

      1. @righteousnarwhal Ooh, happen to know the year?

Tuesday, 21-Oct-14 02:28:56 UTC from web
        1. @hawloween No. I don't remember if it was mentioned, but I think it's from the 80s.

Tuesday, 21-Oct-14 02:29:21 UTC from web
          1. @righteousnarwhal Well if it looks anything like mine yeah it would be 1982-1986, last of their rear wheel drive form.

Tuesday, 21-Oct-14 02:30:07 UTC from web
            1. @hawloween I didn't see the car. I happened upon my dad's friend on a fair last monday and we talked cars. I'll ask him the year and other details when I see him next, which probably will be whenever I feel hungry near the town's bus terminal, as he has a bakery there.

Tuesday, 21-Oct-14 02:31:44 UTC from web
              1. @righteousnarwhal Neat, man. I'm not too sure on how Toyota marketed the Celica/Supra in south America.

Tuesday, 21-Oct-14 02:33:39 UTC from web
                1. @hawloween They used the same names. I think they just exported to America in general as a whole without much change from region to region. (At least in flat countries. I doubt they exported unmodified cars to places like Brazil, Bolivia or Peru, since a flat land car simply doesn't have enough strenght for mountain roads common in those places.)

Tuesday, 21-Oct-14 02:35:52 UTC from web
                  1. @righteousnarwhal Oh, well that makes sense. They marketed the Celica Supra as either that, or Supra GT in Europe/Australia, and with more engine options much like their domestic market models. I wonder if turbocharged models could be found in the mountainous countries... if any Celica at all.
