Help Simplify (x squared -3x +1)-(x squared + 2x + 7

@godsregret That's a minus in between? In which case that's -5x - 6.

@godsregret You simply just take the X Squared and subtract it with the other X squared. And all otehr like values go the same.

@godsregret (x²-3x +1) -( x² + 2x +7)
(-x^4 - 2x³ - 7x² +3x³ + 6x² + 21x -x² - 2x -7)
-x^4 +x³ -2x² + 19x -7
or something like that -

@mushi No, Matt is right. You're supposed to multiply a -1 into the second bracket but then you add and subtract everything, not multiply them.

=x²-3x+1-x²-2x-7 (bring -1 into second bracket)
=x²-x²-3x-2x+1-7 (reorganize like terms for simplicity)
=-5x-6 (final answer) -
