  1. I really loved the Imagery at the end of Halo 4. #
After Leaving John, and trying her best to persuade him that there is nothing he can do, Cortana disappears into a void. As the Enemy ship he was on literally Crumbles around him. the only friend he ever trusted, gone. His world and life now turned upside down as he will have to learn to cope without the person who knew him best in his life. We then next see him floating in space, not fighting with the emptiness around him. Trying to become one. He floats, like a corpse. It is around here that a friend, one who he has saved from his very first mission, comes to save him. My god, was this a trip. He felt Nothing, and Floated in nothing. I just like that.

    1. @metaltao That's better than the end of Halo 2, where they're back on earth and Terrence goes to Master Chief and says "what are you doing" and MC is all like "FINISHING THIS FIGHT" and that's it. #

        1. @metaltao Yeah, I mean it's not like you really play Halo for the story all that much anyway but I still do expect some coherence from any game I play that has a story.

          1. @northernnarwhal It doesn't have the greatest story, but it's universe is very well made, with Rebellions, Racism, Scientific and sometimes Sci-fantasy elements. It has a feel that can border on the magic when you look into it. The precursors are apparently beings who had powers akin to magic. But, I mostly love the history of the different Aliens within the Alien Covenant. Their reasons for joining and the structure reminds me SOOO much of the Spanish Inquisition. It makes me nerd quite a lot.

            1. @metaltao Admittedly the world is Halo is fairly well built, especially if you read further into the series. That being said, being a massive sci-fi fan I'm well aware that the genre has a habit of letting characters, themes, and sometimes even central narratives all slip in favour of world-building pretensions and minor details. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, just that when examined holistically the story doesn't have an awful lot of meat to it, it's a just a decent sci-fi action story with a developed world.
