  1. So I witnessed an altercation at the gas station. Dude comes in behind a woman and her kids, yells something at her, and waits for her to come back out to the car. I finish pumping, ready my camera, and sure enough he confronts her again, so I start recording. Then he inevitably notices me, now I'm involved, she leaves while he's talking to me, he goes to talk to her as she leaves and I take my opportunity to leave, she and I both coincidentally drive off in different directions before he can get back into his car (which I got the plate number of), and on the way to the grocery store, with the camera still rolling just in case he follows me, I realize - the gas station would have security cameras, anyway. # #

    2. @scriba It's the intent that counted, plus you still distracted the guy from the woman, right? That's gotta count for something.

      1. @northernnarwhal Yeah, there is that. Wonder if I made it "bigger" for the kids, though.... You know? Like, "Mom and Dad are fighting again" vs "Mom and Dad are fighting, who is this guy, what's happening with him and dad?"

        1. @scriba That's always a possibility. But at least it didn't escalate from "Mom and Dad are verbally fighting again" to "There is physical violence between Mom and Dad".

          1. @northernnarwhal Yeah, that's true, too.

    3. @scriba So was the whole thing like non-sensical or could you make out anything it was about?

      1. @awlditzy Something about money, and I guess it was his family (he said), and she seemed calm and used to it anyway.

        1. @scriba At least it stayed at yelling and nothing had to go down, or no-one for that matter.

          1. @awlditzy Yeah, totally. Also it turns out he's still recovering from brain surgery, which I would never have known if he swung at me, and man oh man rocking someone's jaw like that cannot end well.

            1. @scriba Yes in my experience it never is.
