Here's a good brain exercise for some bronies: Rainbow Dash flies horizontally at a constant speed of 10 m/s. At t = 0, she begins to flap her wings harder, giving her a constant horizontal acceleration of 8 m/s^2. After how many seconds will she reach Mach 1, producing a Sonic Rainboom? Assume Mach 1 is 330 m/s; ignore all drag effects.

@edman I read "Brain exercise" and immediately stopped.

@nvrrmbr It's actually not too bad. It's a single-equation problem. :)

@edman I'm only in Algebra 2! Don't you use your fancy mathematics on me!

@nvrrmbr Haha, no need to worry then. Also - math gets so much cooler after Algebra 2; I'm sure you'll enjoy it! :D

@delc17 A winner is you! Want another problem? I think it might be more fun to do a harder problem involving the rainboom effect itself. :D

@edman I'm on my phone without access to pen and paper. Some other time
