            @adiwan I can see a metaphorical jumping of the shark.

            Applejack and Sunset Shimmer are on their bikes ready to race. We pan to the audience which includes everyone in the school, cheering them on. Twilight and Rainbow Dash look at each other and the latter says, "Doesn't this seem familiar to you, like this is an homage or something?" Then we pan to a darker grey character with spiky blue hair, kind of looks like Vinyl Scratch, and she shrugs her shoulders.
