You can make a functional pop filter out of a coat hanger and a stocking or thin cloth

@bonesbones I mean, if you can afford a decent recording mic you should be able to afford a pop filter but if for whatever reason you don't have one they're super easy to make
-
@nightmarenarwhal It's super easy and cheap to do a lot of DIY audio stuff, actually. Basically every aspect of audio recording besides the microphone itself can be made with household items. I'm looking into making an acoustics box out of some cardboard and mattress foam.

@mrmattimation Oh, I know. You're kinda preaching to the choir here, actually. I work with this stuff for school.

@yodeleerie That's right, one could make all kinds of explosives using simple household items.

@nightmarenarwhal Such as this walmart brand nitrogen bomb

@yodeleerie or this functioning Target brand replica of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima

@yodeleerie This is lye, the crucial ingredient. The lye combined with the melted fat of the bodies til a thick white soapy discharge crept into the river. May I see your hand, please?

@yodeleerie Oh yeah, I usually keep up with Yahtzee's stuff. I don't necessarily agree with him all the time but he always makes great points with clever analogies and tends to articulate really well.

@nightmarenarwhal That's why I love him]

@yodeleerie His Psychonauts review encompasses a lot of my personal thoughts about the game really well
-
@nightmarenarwhal I've never played it personally

@yodeleerie [obligatory recommendation]
I really like it. One of the most creatively designed action-adventure games you'll ever play. -
@yodeleerie It's in the PS Store and on Steam for not much, and it's not awfully long so pick it up sometime if you're looking for a change of pace
-
@nightmarenarwhal Good plan

@bonesbones The pencil thing was pretty funny
-
@nightmarenarwhal When I first saw it, I tried it (despite playing Psychonauts), and to this day I still try to trick my friends into doing the same because goddamn that was brilliant.

@bonesbones Psychonauts has kind of a Kafkaesque sense of surrealism which is really neat
