  1. Seems I was just playing Fallout 4 for over 5 hours straight, I think that's a record for me.

        1. @ellistia I haven't played it but I've played some of the other Fallout games and liked them. What are some new things you like in this one, and how would you say it is compared to others you may have played?

          1. @northernnarwhal I suppose the main thing to say would be that the gunplay feels a lot more fluent compared to 3/NV, where it felt very clunky and for me made VATS pretty much a necessity in any combat situation. With VATS now being only slowed time instead of frozen time, and the fact that you actually feel like you're hitting stuff when you shoot it, combat in general is a lot more fun and engaging. The new customisation options for weapons and armour are also pretty interesting, along with the fact that you're encouraged to scrounge for "junk" so that you can make said customisations (as well as build/improve settlements, but I haven't done a whole lot of that as it hasn't seemed all that necessary, at least at the point I'm at).

Yeah, there's a bunch of stuff really, and off the top of my head I can't think of anything I preferred in NV compared to 4.

            1. @ellistia I've been a Fallout fan for years and combat has never been one of its strong suits, so its nice to see that it's actually being addressed in this new one. From the sounds of it, they've improved VATS from something potentially game breaking in action to something that's more of a facet of the action. I have heard some complaints about the dialogue, though it looks like the game itself plays much better than any of the previous instalments, so I'm looking forward to playing it at some point.

              1. @northernnarwhal I can't say much about the dialogue, but the story is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than FO3 oh my god

                1. @bobo I've actually always liked the Fallout series most for its worldbuilding and individual vignettes as opposed to its larger overarching narratives

            2. @ellistia I've spent more time so far building a base than advancing (Only finished the quest with the museum so far) just because it's fun

          2. @northernnarwhal Remember when FO4 was announced and people kept saying "Wake me up when Obsidian makes the better version of this game"? Notice how nobody's said that since release?

            1. @mrmattimation I haven't really been following too much of the popular response to FO4, though it looks like lots of people are really enjoying it
