@merrytiffmas The answer, of course, is no. "Active disengagement" is an ornate way of phrasing "willful ignorance", which tends to be a knee-jerk reaction to conflict outside of a strict moral binary.

@merrytiffmas It's not you, it's a behaviour that can be exhibited by anyone (and this umbrella of course happens to include you). People aren't the problem so much as ideas and ways of thinking are, so that's why we have to responsibly unpack them to the best of our ability.

@merrytiffmas It's also how I feel about the situation, as a result of me wanting to engage with it, and how I feel specifically isn't necessarily a projection of your sense of self (though it may take influence from it, but these are different concepts ipso facto).

@scribus The character of Tyler Durden became the embodiment of everything he thought he was fighting against- his actions weren't necessarily harmful in strictly empirical terms and were more so on a scale of societal impact, which can be seen in the microcosmic faux-bureaucracy he instills within his Project Mayhem.
