@mushi This looks really cute
-
@northernnarwhal it seems to have gotten lots of prizes and including the 'read to cry" one
Thursday, 18-Feb-16 23:36:01 UTC from web-
@mushi What's its translated title?
-
@northernnarwhal the direct translation would be somthin glike "the other dog that guard the stars", but you might have more luck looking for the original title "zoku hoshi mamoru inu"

@mushi I started on that, but could not get over the fact that it was a Dutch translation ( and a horrid one at that ). The story seemed to have a lot of potential but I gave the book away, I sort of regret that now. I might just get me an English translation one of these days.

@critialcloudkicker i havent started yet because i'm in a real bad mood because of all that stuff i mentioned earlier

@mushi Go take a walk, poke a tree, belittle a wild banana, hug a cow, take a shower.
Believe me, I have been in that proverbial well you are in right now, and though you probably wanna wade in it some longer. My advice, Don'tThursday, 18-Feb-16 23:52:03 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker it is too late for me to trust the streets (not that i trust them at daylight anymore either) and there are no cows here D=<

@mushi What kind of farm animals do you have in Brazil ? ... Or other huggable animals...
And, well, spiders can count if you really want to I guess.Thursday, 18-Feb-16 23:56:31 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker see, pretty much all the meat prodducced in brazil is cow meat, but i live in a nowhere inside of a nowhere, so there isnt any cows nearby

@mushi My house is in between "WhereIsThat" and "HeardOfIt", and as such there is still a lot of farmland.
Not really sure what to expect of of a nowhere inside of a nowhere inside of Brazil.Friday, 19-Feb-16 00:11:25 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker 3 of the 4 sides of the tinny little 4Km perimeter city i live is surrounded by dense "cerrado" ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerrado ), it is wild, so you dont see any farm animal there
also, it is military area, so you cant go there (i wente there sometimes when i was young and inconsequent, though)Friday, 19-Feb-16 00:15:32 UTC from web-
@mushi Hmm, that does not seem like it is a very nice place to take a stroll whatsoever.
And that does not even take into account that you do not trust the streets.Friday, 19-Feb-16 00:19:15 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker it is nice there, there are a ton of medium crookef trees and tall grass. once i found a small lake there and it was nice. Now i dont go there anymore because i dont want to get shot

@mushi Stupid military zones. What are they even doing there ? Try to stop drug/weapon runners ? It's in the middle of Brazil. Trying to stop domestic crime by making a military zone in the middle of a country ? ... Well come to think of it, it's probably effective and may be something Dr Doom would do.

@critialcloudkicker i have no idea what they want there, but all this area (including this city) belonged to the airforce. Now the city is free, but they kept the rest. they probaly only want it so they can look and the other armed forces and say "i have it and you dont!" or something
Friday, 19-Feb-16 00:29:21 UTC from web-
@mushi Somehow I do not think the "Yeah ! Take that you stupid ground-force dweebs, you are grounded, stuck to the ground and such, you do not even have a city to look over, Njeh, ground-based combat sucks !" really holds up against the "Good job with your city guys, I heard that there is a guy that looks a lot like Jesus who is afraid to walk the streets after dark. What ? You guys never heard of night-vision-goggles ? You should try them sometimes... Ohyea, I forgot, you guys have a city, but we have funding !" retort
Friday, 19-Feb-16 00:33:01 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker well, implying military ever makes sense
Friday, 19-Feb-16 00:37:25 UTC from web-
@mushi Maybe, maybe not, military intelligence is usually a joke ( I can say this from experience ). Untill then, they are the people with the guns, smile, nod, and keep walking.
Ever happen to read 1984 by any chance ?Friday, 19-Feb-16 00:42:31 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker yes, i have read that
Friday, 19-Feb-16 00:45:04 UTC from web-
@mushi I need to read it again TBH. But since I did not grow up in Brazil it looks really odd to me, and as such reminded me of that book. But I am not really sure why.
Friday, 19-Feb-16 00:52:07 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker it is probably because it is just a bunch of people taking power ove something that they shouldnt have power over.
Friday, 19-Feb-16 00:54:02 UTC from web-
@mushi ... Wasn't that by Huxley instead of Orwell ? ... Brave New World or so ?
Friday, 19-Feb-16 01:00:46 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker i really have no idea
Friday, 19-Feb-16 01:08:39 UTC from web-
@mushi Right... Right... Animal Farm, 1984, and Brave New World have been put to the top of my "I should read this when I have the time" list.
Friday, 19-Feb-16 01:09:50 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker 1984 and Animal farm, both Orwell.
