     @spots before Labour Day? I thought as a rule schools didn't start till after in the states.

     @awl @spots Some schools don't have Summer vacations in the US.  A coworker of mine told me how kids in some Arizona districts have a two-week vacation at the end of every term rather than a multi-month Summer vacation.
