  1. Welcome to RDN, a censored place for mostly ex-MLP fans where talking about pushing Onions out of butthole's is A-OK.

    1. @critialcloudkicker To be fair back when MLP was still relevant the ongoing theory was that Scootaloo came out of Discord's butthole

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:15:57 UTC from web
      1. @tiffany What do you mean "was still relevant" ?

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:17:35 UTC from web
        1. @critialcloudkicker when it was a bigger meme/meme producer than it currently is, maybe?

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:18:13 UTC from web
          1. @awl Am I the only one around here whom is allergic to meme's ?

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:18:47 UTC from web
            1. @critialcloudkicker as this atmosphere is mostly meme at this point you likely are

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:19:54 UTC from web
        2. @critialcloudkicker Nowadays that fandom is in steady decline.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:19:27 UTC from web
          1. @nerthos Not denying that, but I am still a fan. I guess some people will just declare something 'irrelevant' when they think it has declined to a very small group ?

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:22:17 UTC from web
            1. @critialcloudkicker I still like it but I don't actively keep up with it. Not sure why people do that thing where they get super invested in something then drop it and don't like it anymore, never understood it. I rarely if ever stop liking things.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:23:45 UTC from web
              1. @nerthos it's almost second nature to throw all in for many people any more. Mostly just looking for distractions.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:24:41 UTC from web
                1. @awl I guess. I just think it's a really immature way to go about things.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:25:36 UTC from web
                  1. @nerthos Well I can understand having little else to be excited about that one goes more in to something but it's also grabbing for something to identify with. Wouldn't say it's immature in and of itself.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:27:47 UTC from web
                    1. @awl Isn't it a bit silly to build an identity around a show or band or the like?

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:28:53 UTC from web
                      1. @nerthos yeah but like the little to be excited over, likely if you do that you have little else to identify with... huh come to think of it that's a mark of immaturity; identifying yourself by the things you like exclusively.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:30:26 UTC from web
                        1. @awl That's my point. A mature person has an identity that isn't exclusively defined by their tastes, but rather their tastes are a secondary trait used to find entertainment or social interaction.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:32:51 UTC from web
                          1. @nerthos I was thinking of the distraction part at first

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:35:33 UTC from web
              2. @nerthos So would you classify you still being a fan of something ( but it used to be more ) as irrelevant now ?

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:26:15 UTC from web
                1. @critialcloudkicker It has nothing to do with it. MLP has become irrelevant to internet culture at this point as it no longer shapes the memeworld. It went over the sensation stage and became a secluded fandom like all others before.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:27:38 UTC from web
                  1. @nerthos Yup, that is all true, I guess. But I never liked the memeworld, and you can say I have a terrible aftertaste of the so called 'internet culture' ( for it is a horrible place full of regurgitation ). But I am having a bit of trouble with the 'was still relevant' part. Do I hope the show will die gracefully lest becoming a new spongebob. ( there are some people who say it is too late for that though ) ... and that is why I am having trouble with the phraising that was used...

                    1. @critialcloudkicker As I think Gherkin said? The show will keep releasing episodes until they have enough to put on repeat and keep children hooked to it and asking their parents to buy them toys.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:38:26 UTC from web
                      1. @nerthos As long as they still make good episodes every once in a while, I guess that would make me happy. But lets focus on this part right here ; Calling a previous hobby or pastime you enjoyed irrelevant now probably is not healthy.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:41:51 UTC from web
                        1. @critialcloudkicker Well, you don't have to stop liking something to consider it not relevant in a social or cultural level.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:42:46 UTC from web
                          1. @nerthos But who cares about if it is relevant NOW when you are talking about having/holding a theory that Scootaloo came out of Discord's butt ? That is like the total opposite of a bragging right. It is a small step short of kicking your own hindquarters.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:47:32 UTC from web
                            1. @critialcloudkicker I don't think that's related to whether or not it's still relevant.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:49:58 UTC from web
                              1. @nerthos You know, I kinda started this whole debaccle because the whole "I once was something, but now the internet culture is as good as dead, so I am calling what I was part of irrelevant now" seems to be really unhealthy to me. But a couple of dashes later, I'm not really sure. I might just be really really sleepy and stumbling over a word... ... ... Guess I am going to bed, Gnite :)

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:56:20 UTC from web
                                1. @critialcloudkicker I don't think that's what anyone meant. It's not about being all "nah I'm so totally over it", in my case I was explaining why it is objectively much less relevant to internet culture nowadays than it used to be. Goodnight though.

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:57:33 UTC from web
        3. @critialcloudkicker Literally nobody watches it anymore

Sunday, 08-Jan-17 02:22:38 UTC from web
          1. @tiffany Aww, this makes me sad.
