  1. @colfax Isn't it somewhat arrogant to suggest that countless churches and people (including men like Abraham Lincoln) are all radically in error in their view of the Bible?

    2. @widget As christians we have to stand for the truth. The world doesn't like the truth, therefore we irritants. Bible says we are supposed to be irritants to the world, if I get flak so what? I rather prove the truth and get flak then not stand up for the truth and not get flak.

      1. @unregarded truth? Jesus isn't even the real name of the Christ. You can thank poor translations and meddling over several centuries for creating the most widely recognized fake name ever. On that note, Christ just means "the anointed" anyway, and there have been countless people in cultures before "Jesus" who have been called the Christ. Also, most of the "facts" about him were fudged by early followers of his teachings in an effort to gain followers by making Jesus seem similar to the older saviors and anointed's of other cultures.

              2. @unregarded So nothing was possibly misinterpreted, mistranslated, or omitted when it was translated into English (which is at least 1300 years younger than the Bible, by all known historical evidence for the age of both), then?

          1. @unregarded you're saying the wrong words to the wrong guy today. I have already been warned once to not share with you my side on the matter, so I ask you to simmer down on this: the Bible is a collection on stories transcribed from the oral tradition which quickly grew in popularity after his death. A group of early Christians didn't like the idea of stories important to their religion being either lost in time or changed through constant re-tellings, so they established rules of canon and set out to collect stories to create the new testament. They were transcribed in Latin, then used in reference for religious gatherings and sermons. All of the stories used came from apostles or people who claimed to know them or be related to them. Each book in the new testament was then edited to give coherency and continuity to the larger story intended (i.e. change point of views, throw in extra bits to show what's going on outside the immediate perspective, etc. )

    4. @widget You can read that we are not a part of this world. We are like a rash on the body irritating it->i think i heard this example somewhere. We stand for the truth, the world doesn't like the truth, they want to keep on sinning and do the things they do. Earth doesn't like us because they don't want to believe in the truth. And I wasn't rubbing in people's faces. People just started to speak against, so I speak back.
