          1. @renovatedkitchen Mine takes years. I'm normally the happy-go-lucky guy with no problems but if too much stuff happens at once I kind of explode. xD

            1. @minti You should shout as loudly as you can into a microphone about it while putting on a goofy accent. And then play it back.

              1. @redenchilada I would, but that would wake up my dad. I just went outside and ran around the block as fast as I could for a good like 20 minutes (It's 12am here). xD

                        2. @minti Here you can legally buy them without any kind of license at age 18. And they can be easily modified to fire .22 rounds.

                      2. @nerthos Bb guns yes, and i only know that because my friend has one. To be honest i think the no guns thing makes canada alot safer because not every blithiering idiot has the right to have a gun. No offense to the US. (weeelll, maybe a little)

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:19:44 UTC from web
                        1. @techdisk42 Actually, it's worse. Because only police and crime has guns. If everyone has guns, the robbers are more afraid of pulling one, because anybody could shoot him. Here guns are kind of restricted, but not totally.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:21:01 UTC from web
                          1. @nerthos but there are less people with guns to pull in the first place. It also helps pick out people because you can usually be able to correctly report someone with a gun. A gun becomes more suspisious to be walking around with, which is in fact a good thing.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:24:08 UTC from web
                            1. @techdisk42 I preffer everyboy with guns instead of organized crime with guns. Swords are more fun, though, and in a no-gun country they are even more efficient.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:28:58 UTC from web
                              1. @nerthos i got to agree with swords being wicked, but think of it this way: some guy is desprate for money, and thinks of robbing a bank. In the US, theres a chance he might have a gun in his bedside table and there you go, hes on a crime spree. In canada this guy would very likely not have a gun anywhere, so its either go and spend money (which he doesnt have) on an illigal gun which is already a risk, or go in swinging a baseball bat and have himself taken down fast. Lack of guns helps more times than it hurts.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:35:13 UTC from web
                                1. @techdisk42 You're not gonna get very far into a bank with a gun in your hand.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:38:04 UTC from web
                                    1. @techdisk42 the knives in your kitchen pose just as much of a threat. Knives are actually more dangerous, because of the wounds they cause.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:39:44 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                                      1. @renovatedkitchen Exactly. A gun is far less dangerous in the hands of an untrained guy than a cutting or blunt weapon.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:40:28 UTC from web
                                      2. @renovatedkitchen Hey, from a distance of 5 meters, whose more deadly to a group of people (assuming the people can run), a guy with a kitchen knife, or a guy with a shotgun?

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:44:23 UTC from web
                                        1. @techdisk42 skill level of both people?

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:45:10 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                                          1. @renovatedkitchen When you have a gun already, you should know how to use it. And the knife is a knife. So, he shotgun guy knows his gun, and the knife guy has a knife.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:47:24 UTC from web
                                            1. @techdisk42 If both know how to use their weapons, it's about reflexes.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:49:32 UTC from web
                                            2. @techdisk42 depends on the gun, if he has a shotgun, does he even know how to reload somewhat quick if his skills are basic? The knife can be thrown. Bullet goes straight, knife makes lacerations, damaging larger amounts of tissue and such. Knife is more agile, does not rely on reloading or ammunition.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:50:02 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                                              1. @renovatedkitchen One time I was chopping something for a recipe and I started to swing the knife wrong and almost cut straight into my hand.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:51:34 UTC from web
                                                1. @redenchilada ouch! That's a close save! I've had the odd cut here and there from cutting. Mom actually cut the upper half of her finger off. It got sown back no biggie, but she doesn't have any nerves in it any more.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:53:13 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                                                  1. @renovatedkitchen Since then I've always made extra-sure to be super-careful when I use the knives. I don't even really cook that much any more anyway, though. :/

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:54:13 UTC from web
                                                    1. @redenchilada that's a good call. Remember, a sharp knife is safer than a full knife. I too take great care with cutting things now. Although I was handling a thin copper gasket a while ago and it slipped, cutting my palm. Wasn't deep or bad, but looked and felt weird.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:56:08 UTC from StatusNet iPhone
                                                    2. @redenchilada You don't know about dangerous utting weapons until you try to use a double bladed sword. If you aren't careful you can lose the arm you're holding it with.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:56:18 UTC from web
                                                      1. @nerthos Lightsaber-induced tetraplegia -- TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:56:58 UTC from web
                                                        1. @scribus I was lucky to first try with a completely dull double bladed sword. It only hurted a little.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:59:53 UTC from web
                                              2. @renovatedkitchen Ah, but shotguns dont fire "straight" they release a load of shot or whatever that can hit a large area. Its like throwing a bunch of BBs at someone. Hard. And if were getting intk specifics it really defeats the purpose of the point. If both people know how to use their wepons properly, the gun would be able to do more damage to more people, while the knife can do major damage to one or two people if they are close enough.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:55:04 UTC from web
                                                1. @techdisk42 They actually fire straighter than a lot of people think.

Thursday, 02-Aug-12 04:56:19 UTC from web
                                                2. @techdisk42 I suppose. But also remember, a shotguns pellets don't spread until a distance.

                                                3. @techdisk42 You're thinking of a sewn-off shotgun. At 5m a shotgun barely spreads.

                                3. @techdisk42 "But 'Murrcans need guns so's that the guv'mint is a'sceered of 'em." Because the country that can spend a billion dollars on a single satellite-guided bomb is going to be afraid of someone with a 12-gauge pump-action. Eeyup.

                                4. @techdisk42 US is not a good example of a pro-gun policy. Still, it's easy to build a coilgun, and that's far deadlier than a normal gun.

            2. @minti that's what happened with me. Except, I stopped myself and left it hanging. Been loosing myself since, but always gotta keep your head at least level with things.

    4. @widget It's a good policy. Everyone knows how to use guns, so they aren't a danger.
