    1. @techdisk42 Dear Techdisk, why do I need all that fancy stuff? Love, Nerthos.

      1. @fiercedeity If your horrible at keeping track of your tabs, like i am. instead of having multiple windows, its just one window.

        1. @techdisk42 I'm horrible at keeping few tabs, but I'm otherwise good.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:24:51 UTC from web
          1. @fiercedeity trust me, if you start using it, you cant stop.

            1. @techdisk42 So it's like drugs? No, i don't want that. Also I don't touch Firefox since 3.6

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:26:20 UTC from web
              1. @fiercedeity it got a huge facelift with firefox 4, and its at 14.0.1. give it a shot.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:27:51 UTC from web
                1. @techdisk42 Exaclty. They changed everything, and I liked Firefox for it's 3.5 interface. I don't like it anymore. And also I don't want to export all the history, favourites, tabs, cache, etc from chrome.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:29:01 UTC from web
      2. @fiercedeity also, if your hiding nsfw stuff, you can stick it all in a tab group and have it completely hidden. no visible tab, no visible taskbar button. just a little picture saying there is more than one group active.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:25:10 UTC from web
        1. @techdisk42 @fiercedeity Funfact: Chrome uses less memory than firefox. Chrome just uses more memory more tabs you have. While Firefox uses a lot of memory to begin with. Thus why I use chrome. I only use two tabs.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:28:57 UTC from web
          1. @skullpony Chrome also pulls up a buttload of processes for no reason. :p

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:29:31 UTC from web
          2. @skullpony Funfact: Firefox is awesome anyway. when you have 6 GB of memory, i dont give a pegasus with memory.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:29:50 UTC from web
            1. @techdisk42 That statement just sounded like a little kid. "Firefox is awesome anyway."

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:31:15 UTC from web
              1. @skullpony yeah, i know. ignore that.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:31:45 UTC from web
          3. @skullpony @redenchilada Chrome uses one process for each tab. So it's far more efficient for less tabs, and worse for lots of tabs. But that also has one advantage: if one freezes, the rest work just fine. Also I have far more memory that what I need.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:30:43 UTC from web
            1. @fiercedeity Correction, it uses one process per site.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:31:23 UTC from web
              1. @minti Oh well. I keep one tab per site, so it's practically the same for me.

    2. @techdisk42 I have seven tab groups currently. Ponies, Gaming, nginx, PostgreSQL, Development, Unclassified, and the last is left as an exercise to the reader.

    3. @techdisk42 Dear Techdisk. Steam Web browser is better.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:23:11 UTC from web
      1. @skullpony I get the feeling this "steam web browser" is actually just another web browser that is either integrated into steam or being accessed from steam via api.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:24:26 UTC from web
        1. @toksyuryel It's just a basic web browser that you can go on during playing games on Steam

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:25:30 UTC from web
        2. @toksyuryel It's actually not as far as I can tell. :/ I should look into it though.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:25:41 UTC from web
          1. @minti @toksyuryel Apparently it's based on WebKit. Go figure.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:26:27 UTC from web
            1. @minti Sooo it's webkit :D I was right~

        2. @bitshift IT IS THE BEST.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:34:07 UTC from web
          1. @skullpony The best at randomly crashing and bringing down the whole Steam overlay, sure.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:36:03 UTC from web
            1. @bitshift I've never had that happen to me, the Steam browser is surprisingly well done for being a DX Overlay. xD

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:36:29 UTC from web
            2. @bitshift Hueheuhuehueheuhe, using the Steam browser for things other than the store and community tabs.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:37:03 UTC from web
              1. @redenchilada I use it for keeping tabs (heh) on things while still having a fullscreen game open. But using it for here is bothersome because there's no way to add an auto-refresher.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:38:45 UTC from web
                1. @bitshift I just keep my games windowed for that. Fullscreen games always make me nervous that I'm missing an important note, so I only use it for local multiplayer.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:39:14 UTC from web
                  1. @redenchilada Ah, so do I. However, I do maximize the Windows otherwise I don't feel immersed at all.

                    1. @omni I thought you hated Windows

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:41:32 UTC from web
                      1. @redenchilada I accidentally wrote "windows" as "Windows" :(

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:42:14 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                      2. @redenchilada You can hate something and still acknowledge that it's necessary. I dislike Windows, but I'm still willing to use it for games up until the point where most/all of my games will run on something free (as in cost - the other, "free as in freedom" is very nice but not absolutely essential), or forever if that never happens.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:44:52 UTC from web
                        1. @bitshift I just disregard everything that doesn't work on my platform.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:45:41 UTC from web
                          1. @toksyuryel @omni You people are chumps. :<

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:46:15 UTC from web
                            1. @redenchilada I can't enjoy a game on an OS which papayases me off.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:47:48 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                          2. @toksyuryel And I respect your unwavering approach to the matter, but there are too many games I like which aren't on my preferred platform(s) for me to adopt that same approach.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:47:46 UTC from web
                            1. @bitshift Oh I'm not saying I don't like them. I just don't consider them important.

Saturday, 04-Aug-12 17:49:20 UTC from web
                    2. @omni I'm usually perfectly immersed even with other stuff visible around the game. Just gives me less reason to keep playing if I'm not enjoying myself.

                      1. @redenchilada I hate seeing that, even a 10 pixel border below the window annoys me to no end.
