Okay, I apparently are f***ing stupid. I forgot my keys and as a result can't enter my room. And the guy who has the Spare keys will return in 10AM - 12 hours from now...

@hakupony alright bye :p
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:46:39 UTC from web -
@hakupony Can't you pick or force the lock?
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:46:39 UTC from web-
@nerthos I don't have the necessary tools for picking - and what'sforcing?
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:50:55 UTC from web-
@hakupony Force the lock means... well, straining it until it breaks open. But you usually need to replace the lock after that.
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:52:27 UTC from web-
@nerthos Nah, too expensive. I'd rather sleep outside.
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:53:33 UTC from web-
@hakupony What @bitshift said. They usually work 24/7 because loks break and people forget/break keys.

@hakupony Essentially breaking into your own house. More of a last resort approach.

@hakupony That's more than enough time to learn lockpicking!

@scriba With what?
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:47:24 UTC from web-
@hakupony Bobby pins?
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:48:06 UTC from web-
@scriba Nice idea - I have none.
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:49:11 UTC from web-
@hakupony Drat. Did you perhaps leave a window open?
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:49:33 UTC from web-
@scriba I'm not that good of a climber...
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:50:27 UTC from web-
@hakupony It's amazing what you'll find you're good at when you have no choice.
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:51:17 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel The problem is that climbing to the fourth floor without any safety nor practice on a house is suicide.

@hakupony Rappelling, then?
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:52:24 UTC from web-
@scriba Would require a rope...
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:53:06 UTC from web-
@hakupony What, you mean you actually leave home without your burgling kit? :o

@hakupony Well, you've got 12 hours in which to buy some. :p

@bitshift Shops are closed...
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:51:52 UTC from web-
@hakupony Call a locksmith? I know at least some operate outside of regular business hours for precisely this sort of reason.
-
@bitshift They too are too expensive - and I also don't have my mobile phone with me.
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:55:30 UTC from web-
@hakupony Ok, so you're poor and you can't enter your house. Congratulations! You're the new hobo of RDN!
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:56:51 UTC from web-
@nerthos Yay! But seriously, about 10 bucks per hour to do nothing is an offer I can't refuse.
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:58:42 UTC from web-
@hakupony I would rather work for ten hours than do nothing for ten hours, but, tastes.

@hakupony In that case, I guess find something to do for 12 hours or get accustomed to the prospect of sleeping outside? Not much else available. :/
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:58:06 UTC from web-
@bitshift I have something for the next 2 hours. After that, I'll wait 4 hours (walking arount thinking), then, I go to the city and buy a cafe and walk back up. Then, the library will be open again when I return
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:00:34 UTC from web-
@hakupony Wait- You live in the library? Hakupony was Twilight all along!
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:01:10 UTC from web-
@nerthos I'm fluttered but the library is right next to me. They have books and Computers :3
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:01:47 UTC from web-
@hakupony And lots of paper to cover yourself with and sleep warm.
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:03:07 UTC from web-
@nerthos Nah, it's not that cold, but I have another idea: http://url9.de/onN
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:06:24 UTC from web-
@hakupony Saw the first 1/4 of that pic and knew where you were going. I congratulate you on your fine taste, sir.
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:10:25 UTC from web-
@nerthos Well, thank you, I could never resist such adorableness :)

@hakupony Sounds like a plan. I'm really not sure what I could actually do around here, so I'm just thankful I've never (yet) locked myself out.

@bitshift What are the laws of picking locks in your country anyway ? Down here it pretty much boils down to "if the lock isn't yours, you may not open the lock"
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:55:57 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker Pretty sure it's essentially the same here: if the lock (or what it's locking) belongs to you, it's fair game. Otherwise, no.
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:57:21 UTC from web-
@bitshift My dad know how to open padlocks with a mace. I need to ask him how he does it some day.
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:59:01 UTC from web-
@nerthos Isn't it just smashy-smashy?
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 19:59:34 UTC from web-
@scriba I mean without breaking the padlock. He makes them pop open.
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:00:18 UTC from web-
@nerthos Oh, well, that's a different story entirely.
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:00:46 UTC from web-
@scriba @bitshift We never buy bad quality padlocks. My dad knows tricks around lots of things. I might be good with lots of technical stuff, but he's way better.

@nerthos If they're bad quality, a sharp blow will probably unlock them anyway. If they're good quality, then yeah, there must be some trick to it.
Tuesday, 07-Aug-12 20:00:50 UTC from web-
@bitshift Do you know where to apply that blow? I know they easily are openable with cards, so they should not be too good...
