      1. @thelastgherkin I still prefer DuckDuckGo over HTTPS, but to each their own I guess: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=reaper+recording+software

    5. @thatonestocking @thelastgherkin hey guys just because I'm online doesn't mean I have unfettered access. No need to get uncivil.

      1. @crusader8 It's literally the first Google result, and it looks free to me! Never used it, though.

        1. @thelastgherkin I think he means "I can't visit all sites here", and maybe Google is blocked? Doesn't happen often, but quite possible.

Sunday, 12-Aug-12 20:45:03 UTC from web
          1. @omni Kind of why I was describing it to him.

            1. @thelastgherkin lmgtfy.com links to Google, so if he can't visit Google that won't work either.

              1. @omni Google basically owns everything. If Google is blocked, you're kind of buggered either way. And yes, I am referring to a regular PC user who uses Firefox or whatever; don't turn this into a "Linux" thing.

                1. @thelastgherkin Puh, search engines aren't a Linux-only thing. There is nothing stopping a Windows user from using another search engine like Bing, Yahoo! Search or DuckDuckGo.

                    1. @mushi I don't get this "Olympics" thingy. What's so awesome about it anyway?

                      1. @omni i dont know, i only watch the oppening and the ending

                    1. @moondash That's good, have fun with it! (And yet another user finds out that Open Source Software can be pretty cool at times, yay!)

    6. @thatonestocking Quote showing what I think of "get used to it" used as an argument to make bad behaviour seem alright: "I always kill people, get used to it".

Sunday, 12-Aug-12 20:46:16 UTC from web
    7. @thatonestocking OR, i can't make use of google right now because pages won't load from google where I am. And I'm not complaining, you should get used to my humor. Just jump off the assumption train for one friggen second.

      1. @crusader8 Site's here: http://www.reaper.fm/ Why can't you access Google?

Sunday, 12-Aug-12 20:52:47 UTC from web
        1. @thelastgherkin Google sometimes refuses to load search results if the connection is too slow. Already happened to me a few time whenever I was using a connection which was lower than 100 kbps.

        2. @thelastgherkin @crusader8 From a quick look on that site: free 30 days trial, then a license is required.

          1. @omni @thelastgherkin thanks for the info btw, I have something to stew over while at work. /)

            1. @crusader8 Oh, Win/Mac are the only supported platforms, by the way. Knowing the supported platforms is always good.

Sunday, 12-Aug-12 21:02:12 UTC from web
            2. @crusader8 Here's a bit more bang for your buck: the license will cost only $60 if you're an individual using the software for personal use, as opposed to being a business (which is $225).

Sunday, 12-Aug-12 21:03:40 UTC from web
        3. @thelastgherkin I can but the pages typically do not load when I click the links. Again, when I'm off work I can do whatever and not have to attempt to talk to anyone. I was curious about it and had a moment to dash about my curiosity. I'll try not to grapes anyone off over asking questions anymore though, so don't worry about it.
