@nerthos Demons Souls has some really bad issues with its difficulty curve. Imagine playing Dark Souls, only you need 3000 souls to level up and the highest amount an enemy drops is 8

@thelastgherkin In this story it is explained that they collect them because you can use them to gain power. In Dark Souls on the other hand they're pretty much a gaming abstraction that never really gets explained.

@anarchycarcino So I started, and I thought, hey, I actually don't like any of the male trolls that aren't Karkat? And I didn't want to genderswap the female ones, and I couldn't think of a scenario where Karkat hangs around long enough with two male humans, which is a shame because Dirk, but then I revealed that I never had these thought processes and I just wanted to implant images of dudes getting it on with each other in your head.

@ceruleanspark Yeah, I've noticed that. I've been solving it so far by farming behind that door in darkroot, the one with the key the blacksmith sells; but I can see how it becomes an issue on higher levels. Maybe adding a soul drop multiplier, level-related?

@nerthos as for which sword you should take, the important thing to bring is repair powder. He has a corrosive attack that will break your weapons if it so much as glances.

@ceruleanspark I always carry around some because of the shockwave attack of dragon weapons. Problem is, he easily kills the phantoms.

@ceruleanspark I don't think he would b much harder than th bridge wyrm, since that's possibly the hardest boss for my playstyle. Also the first time I couldn't find the channelerm so there'ss the added difficulty too.

@nerthos My girlfriend insists that he's super hard, but he's also one of the only bosses I've never been killed by, so I think playstyle makes a huge difference on this one.

@nerthos Demons Souls also doesn't have bonfires to respawn enemies for farming. You have to walk all the way back to the start of the area and return to the nexus each time. It is unimaginably tediuous
