That moment your grandparents call you to ask you if you can help them switch away from Internet Explorer after they heard about the leak on the news. Mozilla and Google, today is your day.

@captainpurplephish20 I know, I feel SO happy about this getting on the news. Seeing the fear it causes, this will severely damage the market share of Internet Explorer for the "average" user <3

@omni I just find it hilarious that they now feel it is necessary to run an advertising campaign to persuade customers to use PRE-INSTALLED software

@captainpurplephish20 It's hilarious, in a way, yeah. What disturbs me more about the IE ad (at least, the one I saw) is that the user "uninstalls" IE by dragging it to the recycle bin. It's like Microsoft really doesn't want to teach users how to use their system. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised...

@ceruleanspark Chrome already passed Internet Explorer? Why was I not aware of this?
Wednesday, 19-Sep-12 19:03:38 UTC from web-
@omni The way you were talking, I thought you might still think things were the way they were back in the 90s, where alt browsers fought over the 10% not occupied by IE

@redenchilada Well I have talked to alot of people that stopped using Firefox because it's been crashing alot for them
Wednesday, 19-Sep-12 19:06:49 UTC from web-
@shadowdash454 It rarely crashes for me, and when it does, it's usually caused by something with my computer, considering I usually have to reboot to fix it :I
Wednesday, 19-Sep-12 19:09:15 UTC from web-
@redenchilada Yeah it does not crash for me much me just some people are saying it does which may have nothing to do with firefox lol
Wednesday, 19-Sep-12 19:10:38 UTC from web-
@shadowdash454 Well, if you run eight thousand different unstable addons, it'd probably start crashing... :|

@omni If Windows actually gave the option to delete a program by dragging its shortcut to the recycle bin (emphasis on _option_ - like, a popup dialog with "Uninstall/Remove Icon/Cancel"), it'd be a huge boon to UI friendliness for casual users. It doesn't, though. :/
Wednesday, 19-Sep-12 19:03:41 UTC from web-
@redenchilada That would probably be a good idea, but it's just disturbing that they advertise misuse of their own product.

@captainpurplephish20 I find it hilarious that they looked at Google's highly successful Chrome ad campaign, with 1) soft music, and 2) a focus on how they think it can improve the users' lives, and decided to run one with 1) loud music and flashing images, and 2) FEATURES FEATURES LOOK AT THESE FEATURES AND WE'RE ALSO FAAAAAST.

@cabinboybitshift They made another ad? The one I know isn't that loud
Wednesday, 19-Sep-12 19:06:24 UTC from web-
@omni http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnKhueORI_g (Except it's actually a good bit louder than that as shown on TV - consistently louder than _any_ program it's in the ad break of.)
