Windows 8. My God microsoft. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!
about 8 months ago from web-
@renovatedkitchen ikr
about 8 months ago from web -
@renovatedkitchen Something awesome and terrifying at the same time.
about 8 months ago from web-
@widget No start menu? What about all my programs that werent designed with "Metro" in mind? Its all gonna look like poop
about 8 months ago from web-
@renovatedkitchen exactly. They need win 8 metro for tablets and win 8 aero for desktops. Metro would be exclusively metro, and aero would be updated windows 7.
about 8 months ago from web-
@techdisk Yeah. That would help.
about 8 months ago from web-
@renovatedkitchen The last thing I really liked about Microsoft was MS DOS
about 8 months ago from web-
@shadowdash454 Windows 95. When the mouse and GUI first came out. Was trully something else and amazing
about 8 months ago from web-
@renovatedkitchen Wasn't BeOS the first system with a GUI? I'm not sure, though...

-
@shadowdash454 @renovatedkitchen Or was that Windows 3.x or something like that. Whatever, you get what I mean
about 8 months ago from web -
@shadowdash454 Their hardware is good.
about 8 months ago from web-
@nerthos Except the Xbox. I really like their keyboards and mice.
about 8 months ago from web-
@widget I'm actually partial to the Dell keyboards and mice.
about 8 months ago from web-
@eaglehooves the dell quietkey. Love that thing.
about 8 months ago from web-
@techdisk I got one of those for free when an architecture firm was cleaning out their old stuff. :D
about 8 months ago from web-
@eaglehooves I wish I could use mine, but my laptop doesn't have a ps/2 port...
about 8 months ago from web-
@techdisk adapter
about 8 months ago from web-
@renovatedkitchen not too easy to find a ps/2 to usb as it is usb to ps/2

about 8 months ago from web-
@renovatedkitchen there is so much I would do with a prepaid visa right now... including, but not limited to, donate to rdn and steam money
about 8 months ago from web-
@techdisk I had an ebay account since gr. 7-8ish

@eaglehooves I haven't really seen a whole lot of ergonomic Dell keyboards though.
about 8 months ago from web-
@widget ahh who needs ergonomics.
about 8 months ago from web-
@techdisk Once you use a Microsoft 5 button mouse you'll never go back.
about 8 months ago from web-
@widget my school has those. You mean the ones that have back and forward buttons?
about 8 months ago from web-
@techdisk They're technically shoulder buttons. You can use them for whatever you want. You press them with your thumb for the left, and your ring finger for the right.
about 8 months ago from web-
@widget yep, that's the ones my school uses. I might see if I can take one while they upgrade their computers.
about 8 months ago from web -
@widget I've got a cheap off-brand mouse with fourth and fifth buttons arranged the same way. It's pretty nice, 'cept when I click one by accident and my browser hooks it to a back button for some reason.
about 8 months ago from web-
@redenchilada @techdisk This is what I have. http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/126216
about 8 months ago from web-
@widget ah. My school has the non ergonomic versions. And thy are white.

@techdisk The Windows drivers actually have a special auto-180 mode you can assign to a button. It's good for FPS's and stuff.
about 8 months ago from web-
@widget oh wow, I really should see if I can swipe one from school

@widget That's what I meant. I'll have to try a set of headphones with microphone my dad bought and see how good they are.

@renovatedkitchen Temporarily, but once people get used to the switchover it'll be great, especially for developers. !coderpony http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/hh986964.aspx
about 8 months ago from web-
@widget I dunno. Microsoft is trying something really new. Im kinda scared and am ready to hide under my desk
about 8 months ago from web-
@renovatedkitchen That is a normal reaction. I think that's something Microsoft realizes too, which is why they've mostly ignored it.
about 8 months ago from web-
@widget Im proud of them. Go big or go home, right
about 8 months ago from web-
@renovatedkitchen I am too actually. I've thought that Windows has needed a major overhaul (internally and externally) for a while, and now they're finally doing it.
about 8 months ago from web-
@widget I used XP until this year, and I still use it on my netbook. I'll use 7 until at least 2020 unless there's a realli big hardware jump.
about 8 months ago from web -
@widget Yeah. I kinda want to try it. Looks like it will be good with my touch screen. Sadly my touchscreen registers as a mouse, and was already a major pain to get the drivers for Windows 7

@renovatedkitchen Just getting a look at it?
about 8 months ago from web-
@eaglehooves Yeah. I guess it has to follow the microsoft pattern. One good > one bad> repeat
about 8 months ago from web-
@renovatedkitchen I'm already annoyed at ultrabooks, so we'll see how this goes. Things are becoming more and more of a pain in the plot to service.
about 8 months ago from web-
@eaglehooves Im still downloading a prerelease. I have a touchscreen on my toughbook

@renovatedkitchen GNOME3 is kinda what 8 should've been like. Semi-optimised for Touchscreens but quite usable with keyboard and mouse and programs just work how they should. It also looks beautiful.

@omni I'm just one of those anti Linux people. To me, Linux belongs on iPods and iPhones. That's just me though. I like weird things.
about 8 months ago from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen iOS isn't Linux-based, though.
about 8 months ago from web-
@omni yeah. But iPod Linux is. iPod Linux was bomb.
about 8 months ago from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen I wonder if that can run on my 2nd(?) Gen iPod Touch. That thing is only rotting away somewhere anyway...
about 8 months ago from web-
@omni they started making it for the iPod touch/phone but I don't know if it was ever completed. Had it on my 20gb iPod click wheel and iPod video. You could even play doom on it!
about 8 months ago from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen oh, thats rockbox ain't it?
about 8 months ago from web-
@techdisk DED SUMPNY SEY ROBLOX??

@techdisk Rockbox is different. It was more mainstream. iPod linux was pretty cool though
about 8 months ago from web-
@renovatedkitchen ah, I have rockbox on my ipod nano. Its awesome except for a bug that reverses stereo.
about 8 months ago from web-
@techdisk Thats no fun. Did you ever try iPod linux?
about 8 months ago from web-
@renovatedkitchen no, my nano is too small for it to be worth it. And its also the only old style ipod I have.
about 8 months ago from web-
@techdisk True. But you can play original Doom on it!
about 8 months ago from web-
@renovatedkitchen you can on rockbox too, actually!
about 8 months ago from web-
@techdisk Rockbox still lacks a bad **** penguin
