Yay! Someone drove into my car (very small damage) and did a hit-and-run offense. Of course I called the police and registered it. The other driver can expect to have their driver's license revoked for at least 3 months.

@adiwan But how do you know who the other driver is if he pulled a hit-and-run?

@drinkingpony I wrote down their car's license plate, called the police, the police confirmed the accident by examining the presumed point of impact on the car, and the police told me who it was. Now I'm in the process to contact their car insurance.

@adiwan Wow, in the States they just shrug and tell you to call your insurance, who shrugs and pays you half what the damage was.

@scribus A fleeing driver is quite an offense here, no matter how big the damage is. A friend of mine slightly damaged a car (a small scratch) while trying to park it. The parking spot was too narrow and had to find another spot a bit farther. A neighbor saw that and called the police and got him his driver's license revoked for a month because of "hit-and-run".

@adiwan Ohh, I thought you were going to need to do some CSI-magic where people try to enhance video feeds untill they look like knitting patterns, and putting pieces of paint in a mass spectrometer.
Now it sounds, like a boring chore. Best of luck with it.Jonathan Chouinard likes this.
