  1. Well, I finally deleted my Facebook. Turns out, as part of their fight against fake news, they refuse to fact-check politicians. Absolute garbage.

    1. @scribus Well, honestly. In a click-to-click based economy wouldn't fact-checking ANYTHING ( let alone politicians, because they bring in the big clicks ) be sort of shooting yourself in your foot ?

Grats on cutting the cord. I have heard some of my vague friends refer to FaceBook as Umbilical Cord even, food for thought.

      1. @drinkingpony I didn't really even use it, only for party invites and papayaposts, and I really stuck around to help push the podcast. It just all quit being worth it. I've almost got Pleroma figured out, lol.

        1. @scribus The divine powers or yet another GNU Social thing ?

... Yeah I know but I could hope...

But seriously, once you figure how to get more people to use a GNU Social instead of facebook, I would be all ears.

There are SO many people in my immediate surroundings who go "Wait, you did not know what, I posted it on Facebook like a month ago". I would call them stupid boomers but some of them are not even 20 yet.

          1. @drinkingpony Hey, whichever comes first, lol. As for getting people to leave the evil empire? No real ideas on that yet.

    2. @scribus to be fair, the ones that need to be fact checked contribute like 80% of Facebook’s revenue.
