@dno I switched since re-alpine has been dead since 2008 and supposedly had a bunch of security issues.

@tekk I used alpine for a while since I found it easy to configure compared to !emacs email, but it broke for me somehow.

@jla I've never managed to get gnus working well, maybe with my new setup where everything is handled by daemons i can get it working(happy with mutt and editing in microemacs, though)

@widget emacs is ludicrously extensible. I know there's an IRC client and an MP3 player for it.

@ceruleanspark In emacs, I use rcirc even if I like ERC better because again I find it easier to configure.

@jla though really I think rcirc is more meant to be an irc library that happens to have a client. even then it's pretty nice :)

@widget Yes, but the keyword is that it's an extensible text editor. I mean it comes with all kinds of bull**** like a text adventure and Tetris.
