  1. I just realised that the Magic Duel broke consistency with Fallout Equestria by having Zecora perform magic. I really treasure #, I hope her magic powers get explained away with the use of gems in future episodes.

    1. Bro-Opping O&S.

      1. @ceruleanspark I'm sure you will. I finally figured it out

    2. @kamikaze I thought the ending of the episode revealed that it was sleight of hoof.

      1. @ceruleanspark That's a good explanation, though it doesn't seem to be the consensus narrative: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2012/12/magic-duel-episode-followup-great-and_2.html

        1. Why am I sunbroing at O&S when I can't actually beat them myself

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 21:07:39 UTC from web
          1. @ceruleanspark But, O&S are kind of easy, at least if you kill Orstein first. Well I guess it's another case of play style, like mine with the drake.

            1. @nerthos The trouble is, for every multiplayer person you bring, bosses gain 30% extra health, and Anor Londo seems to attract people who have NO IDEA HOW TO FIGHT A BOSS. Or who've never summoned before or something. Either way, you frequently end up with one or two completely dead weights and stronger bosses to boot.

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 23:20:09 UTC from web
              1. @ceruleanspark Oh. That makes sense. I guess it's just the bane of multiplayer, people who don't know what they're ding.

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 23:21:27 UTC from web
                1. @nerthos You go in there, they don't split them up or attempt to draw aggro, they attack both of them at once, rather than focus on the one, then when one powers up, they just run away while the boss kills them one at a time.

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 23:24:57 UTC from web
                  1. @ceruleanspark Man. How did they even got to Anor Londo being THAT bad at it.

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 23:25:47 UTC from web
                    1. @nerthos Well, you can cheese pretty much all the early game bosses with sorcery, pyromancy or lightning spear. The ones that are remotely challenging have NPC summons who basically win the fights for you anyway. Anor Londo is the part that basically separates those people from the good players. In demons souls, that point was marked by a message left by the devs that said "The true demons souls beings here".

                      1. @ceruleanspark Hm. I almost never used sorceries or pyromancies against bosses. Swords, spears and crossbows did the job for me, and my stats weren't good for magic damage.

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 23:33:44 UTC from web
                        1. @nerthos Pyromancy is basically easy mode /without even having to level/ for the first 3 or 4 bosses. Then when you meet the pyromancer NPC and start leveling it (it's not connected to your stats even) it just gets better. There are only a few bosses that don't get wrecked by maxed out great-combustion.

                          1. @ceruleanspark Yup, I'm leveling it (at least, I was last time I played), I think I have the flame in +11 or something. No stat requirements, and the damage scaling at +14 is impressive. Anyway nothing beats falling attack with the Artorias Greatsword.

              2. @ceruleanspark Oh, BTW, I'm playing Fallout New Vegas. Any mod, strategy or thing you would recommend?

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 23:23:48 UTC from web
                1. @nerthos It's a much more solid base game than 3 was. There's probably some improved companion and crafting mods worth getting, but I've never really looked into it, because its flaws are much less glaring.

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 23:26:39 UTC from web
                  1. @ceruleanspark Ok, I'll just start checking Nexus until I stumble upon something good. I've noticed it's far more solid. I like how you don't just sleep one hour and everything's healed, at least in hardcore (which I'm playing because I'm too lazy to do two playthroughs) and the crafting options. I don't like the amount of XP that is awarded by killing mobs, though, because it's too low when compared to 1. NV looks like a hybrid between 3 and 1 when playing hardcore.

                    1. @nerthos If you've got a decent PC there are a bunch of retexture mods worth having. Along with the ones that remove that stupid colored tint they've stuck over everything.

                      1. @ceruleanspark I'll download a couple retex mods then. I've seen a couple yesterday.

    3. @kamikaze You mean that the show's writers *gasp!* aren't bound to fanon traits created by any random fan?

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 20:43:14 UTC from StatusNet Android
      1. @redenchilada # isn't just any crappy thing. I've got books a lot of books on my shelves that are shorter and less well written. Also I'm emotionally compromised when # is the topic.

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 20:54:08 UTC from web
        1. @kamikaze and apparently I have issues with my proofreading.

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 20:55:50 UTC from web
        2. @kamikaze But it's not canon. There's no reason for the show writers to pay it any heed. That would just be silly.

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 22:08:57 UTC from StatusNet Android
          1. @redenchilada Nothing's wrong with silly.

    4. @kamikaze not really. Zecora probably preformed the type of magic that magicians preform. Really well faked.

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 20:56:33 UTC from web
      1. @techdisk come to think of it, Twilight also preforms this type of magic.

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 20:57:19 UTC from web
        1. @techdisk not all the time, of course.

      2. @techdisk that's the same explanation @ceruleanspark supplied and I really like it.

    5. @juicyorange I'm a 30 years old death metal enthusiast, obsessed with brightly coloured ponies. What exactly about all this is not _a little weird_?

Wednesday, 05-Dec-12 21:07:54 UTC from web
      1. @kamikaze If it's "weird" to not succumb to how society as a whole wants you to be, then please, stay weird. It's great to have people choose for themselves what they like or don't like.
