This f***ing application asks me if I was in the military or unemployed, or have a criminal record of any sort every 6 questions. Was I not clear the first time?

@scribus Oh well, it's no as bad as the movie theater was, which asked me to use Internet Explorer. Nothing could be worse than that.

@anarchycarcino Yeah, I had to install Virtualbox, set up a Windows virtual machine, and use IE to apply at Subway. And that was just because they used stupid special effects to make their logo spin all pretty-like.

@scribus You can't just click past the warning and use your normal browser?

@scribus Mine said the application might not work on Chrome or Firefox (It didn't) So I used IE and it still was wonky. I ranted to my friend about it.

@scribus Are you actually telling me something works WELL in Internet Explorer? Or were you like "Dammit, that logo is so annoying, I have to run Internet Explorer where it won't spin so it won't kill me"?

@omni It *only* worked in IE, like the marquee tag (IIRC) used to way back in the day. And the spinny logo was somehow vital to the application functioning at all, I couldn't just shurg off a red X in Linux. Didn't get the job, either. =/

@redenchilada I did, but it still didn't work. They used some BS nonstandard interactive wonky code jive instead of anything reasonable so that their application could be pretty rather than functional.

@redenchilada And how. On the up side, figured "at this point, may as well finagle the NetFlix streaming to work on my VM until they support Linux. They'll totally support Linux one day, won't they?" (They will. . . . Right?)

@scribus They have no plans to support Linux because they can't implement their DRM technology there so easily IIRC.
