I never understood why catfights are between ladies while dogfights are between aeroplanes.

@thelastgherkin Well in rioplatense Spanish "Gato" is slang for prostitute, so it makes a bit of sense for the catfight part. I think air battles are called dogfights because in their earlier stages, they resembled the rolling and circling that dogs do when fighting.

@thelastgherkin Maybe. It would also be a horsefight, so you'd have a whole catalog of animals to choose from.
