  1. Just hit halfway through Double Rainboom. I've gone from "this is not that bad" to instantly hating it.

    1. @thelastgherkin This screams: "HEY! HAVE YOU HEARD THAT MLP:FIM WAS MADE BY LAUREN FAUST WHO ALSO MADE THE POWERPUFF GIRLS????? THEN YOU HAVE TO SEE YOUR GREAT CROSSOVER UNTIL YOU ARE BORED TO DEATH."

      1. @broniebrown @snowcone @rotation Don't get me wrong. The animation is near-professional standard. It's just the story and pacing that really fall down. It spends too long setting up the "Double Rainboom" episode concept for a bait-and-switch into "Powerpuff Girls crossover" territory to gel well. And Pinkie Pie's deus ex machina resolution is grating too and handwaved as That's The Kinda Thing Pinkie Does.

        1. @thelastgherkin Aye. Animation OK, story and pacing bad. The story could have worked a bit if they had tightened up the story and didn't include the Derpy/Doctor bits and shortened the Powerpuff Crossover to a bare minimum to make a reference and not a mayor part of the story. The set up is too slow. The climax was too late. The conclusion too long. Besides of the misadvert of being a "show-accurate" fan episode it is a mayor disappointment.

          1. @broniebrown Major... not mayor. Unless the Mayor is actually disappointed.

          2. @broniebrown "climax" There /was/ no climax.

            1. @redenchilada The double rainboom itself I considered as a climax. But you are right. It was a lame one.

              1. @broniebrown It could have been one if the PPG crossover hadn't completely stolen all the impact.

                1. @redenchilada At least we know now what was the reason that the release took so long.

    2. @snowcone WELLLL... Being weird is the same as being different. Being different is the same as being unique. Being unique is good. Therefore, being weird is good!

    3. @snowcone If the entire episode had been a PPG crossover, then it would have worked better. Perhaps intercut with Twilight and the gang trying to fix the mess Rainbow made. As it happened, it felt like two cartoons sewn together in the middle.

    4. @snowcone @broniebrown And that's what irked me. "We're going to make the most show-accurate fanmade episode ever! *inserts PPG crossover*"

      1. @thelastgherkin @broniebrown So it was something that certain websites and sections of the fanbase were hyping for months, then when it was released, lots of people found it disappointing? Sounds pretty show-accurate to me.

          1. @thelastgherkin Don't/didn't watch either. It's like X-TREME DOUBLE BLIND ILL-INFORMED CONCLUSIONS. Sponsored by Red Bull energy drink.
