          @scoot To put yourself up for the position you just behave appropiately and show the ability to handle responsibility as well as some degree of love for the place, until someone in the staff notices you and puts up your name for promotion. Then the staff has a debate on wether it would be good or not, and then you're given modhood.

          @scoot Widget just sent the staff all DMs saying "hey would nerthos be a good mod" and after a week of deliberation he got the position. Generally nobody knows they're gonna get modship until they have it.
