@punkfluttershy WE MUST
-
@punkfluttershy Dude you're acting like being a brony is a big deal when it
-
@bowandlyre There's a difference between having pride, and becoming a zealot with it.
Artorias likes this. -
@flamingpandaomg there's a difference between liking a show and becoming a nazi about it.
-
@bowandlyre Don't minimalize the cultural significance of bronies and think that we are just kind of a passive fandom, we are actually quite active
-
@bowandlyre Thus the word 'zealot'. XD
-
@punkfluttershy ... Does it matter? We're not some religion or political group we're just people who watch a show about ponies... I see no point to what you're saying.
-
@bowandlyre All I'm saying is that the Love and Tolerance message is important to spread
-
@punkfluttershy The point about this whole mini-argument? Just be respectful when you go to the movie theaters, EQG or not.
-
@punkfluttershy Love and tolerance is overrated.
-
@bowandlyre Now I dunno about that. :|
-
@flamingpandaomg Well I am. It's stupid, i'm not gonna love and tolerate what i don't like.
-
@bowandlyre ...Tolerate doesn't mean like.
-
@bowandlyre So "I" is the central argument I presume? How about "we" or "us"?
-
@flamingpandaomg As I said it's impossible to love everything. We have to hate something or else there'll be no change. The state Africa is in, are you going to love and tolerate that? No you're going to hate it and want to change it i'm sure.
-
@punkfluttershy Are you serious man?
-
@bowandlyre Truly we can't always love and tolerate sure, but that doesn't mean that there is no good in it.
-
@punkfluttershy Dude love and tolerance? I don't think it's even in the show. They don't exactly love and tolerate everything that happens.
-
@bowandlyre No, they can't love and tolerate everything.
-
@bowandlyre Just because humans and ponies have a capacity doesn't mean that there is no love and tolerance
-
@punkfluttershy "Something always irked me about the phrase “love and tolerance”. I always felt like people used it without thinking of what it really meant. It’s something people say with the best of intentions, but the phrase just doesn’t deliver a message significant to the show this fandom is based on. Tolerance is a good way to make no progress at all, but at least everyone’s smiling, right? Yeah right. The bottom line is that people should be encouraged to improve their ability to engage with society in what ways they have control over. This can be done nicely and without hate, but requires that people stop blindly accepting every conceivable fault that someone has. Don’t be afraid to identify destructive or counterproductive behavior. Tolerance doesn’t hurt anyone, but it doesn’t do anything else either" -Sedahet

@bowandlyre that argument about tolerance isn't in the show
-
@punkfluttershy It isn't, i copy and pasted it. I thought it was pretty obvious... *Facepalm*
-
@bowandlyre We are arguing about the show's intended message, not the truth about reality, that is another debate
-
@punkfluttershy The show's intended message is "girly != weak". That's literally the one overarching message. There's nothing about love and tolerance in... well, in any episode, really. Maybe one had something close.
