  1. It's funny how the terraria guy simply doesn't sleep due to a lack of a bed.

            1. @nerthos I assume you have an anvil and furnace already

Saturday, 06-Jul-13 00:14:02 UTC from web
              1. @scoot No anvil yet. I spent most of the time building a proper fortress and being gangraped by floating eyes.

                1. @nerthos that's why I like going the mage route. You kill almost anything very quickly.

                2. @nerthos You need to get 5 iron bars to make an anvil and another 1 iron bar to make a chain so you can make a sawmill, then that builds I think it's some sort of spinning wheel or something that makes the cloth for the bed out of cobwebs. By the way before an update, all it took was 10 cobwebs and some wood at a workbench. I dunno why they made it so complex.

                  1. @scoot I like complex. As lonh as it isn't like asian MMOs where crafting the most basic item means endless grinding to get an item that common sense dictates should be a 100% drop, like a cow's horn.

Saturday, 06-Jul-13 00:28:21 UTC from web
                    1. @nerthos Well cobwebs can be hard to come by, but other than that it's just a whole bunch of hoops to jump through for no reason so if that's your cup of tea you'll probably enjoy Terraria

                        2. @nerthos @scoot There's a new competitor on the scene to challenge both Minecraft and Terraria by essentially combining the best of both games together into one game: https://picroma.com/cubeworld

                            1. @nerthos Unfortunately, the game isn't free. It costs $20, but I'm guessing that it's worth it since TONs of people have spent that much on Minecraft and Terraria and other similar games

                                    1. @nerthos I'm willing to give this game a try since the developers are planning to release more multiplayer server content and even actual massively multiplayer servers.

                              2. @huggablysoft I got Minecraft for £6 and I would never pay more than that for it, I'm amazed people will pay out £15 or whatever it is now.

                                1. @scoot I think that translates to roughly $~9 and $~18? I dunno

                                2. @scoot Well, with Minecraft, they raised the price once the game and its community started making the game a lot more complex with mods, maps and texture packs.

                                  1. @huggablysoft but they added in the mod function now :D it's going to be so much easier to install them

                                  2. @huggablysoft He was always planning on raising the price. When I bought it, it was this tiny game in very early stages of development and it said "50% off during Alpha stage!" or something. It's not over twice the price I paid and thank god I got it when I did

                                    2. @scoot I kind of cheated the system to get the game a long time ago. One of my friends just copied his Minecraft jar file and gave it to me to use on my free to play version that I had. (I just replaced the jar file with the one he gave me.). So...I'm basically playing a pirated version of Minecraft XD

                                        1. @scoot It did back then during the Minecraft 1.3 era. I don't know if that trick works now. :c

                                3. @scoot Well right now it's $26.95 to buy a copy for a friend, so take that as it is.
