Anyway, back to driving the god damned bus! After this run I'll be 1/3 through my day, and not yet halfway through my week. And then after a pointless and uneventful weekend, I'll start all over again!

@darkw00d See, there are these things called "bills," and they like to get "paid," if at all possible "on time." And the current "economy" and "job market" aren't exactly favorable to workers.

@darkw00d Being homeless and starving would probably make me even more miserable. And then I would become some kind of misery singularity.
-
@darkw00d Southern California is too overpopulated. In Orange County alone there are tens of thousands of people on unemployment - that isn't counting people who haven't got jobs but aren't collecting benefits. There are nowhere near that many job openings, and many of the ones there are either pay even less than bus driving does, or require insanely high qualifications, or are just so far out of my experience I could never qualify for them no matter how padded my resume is. I've looked. I've looked, and basically given up looking. My roommate just graduated, and she's putting in (literally) hundreds of applications some days. All she hears back from are scams. And it isn't as if I have the money to move. Even if I did, where to? And what will I do when I get there?
-
@darkw00d Hell, so do I. Doing better now, but still. Just need this next job I've already applied & passed the test for to give me an interview.

@darkw00d No. I was, but a bus driving schedule doesn't really play well with . . . well, anything.
Monday, 29-Jul-13 02:49:24 UTC from web -
@darkw00d Nah, more than minimum, but still about half of a "living wage."
Monday, 29-Jul-13 02:52:53 UTC from web -
@darkw00d Paper making at Kimberly-Clark (the people who make Kleenex and stuff). Pay's good, hours are steady, a three day weekend every four weeks, it's closer to home, and the union isn't completely in the company's pocket like the Teamsters are.
Monday, 29-Jul-13 02:57:16 UTC from web -
@darkw00d No, it'll be 7 days working, 2 off, 7 on, 2 off, 7 on, then the three day weekend, repeat. Which I'm cool with because I like having days off in the middle of the week, but also I miss "real" weekends, so it'll keep rotating for me!

Monday, 29-Jul-13 03:21:15 UTC from web -
@darkw00d Because I've barely written in seven or eight months. :-&
Monday, 29-Jul-13 03:56:06 UTC from web-
@scribus You're a writer? That's awesome! Same here:D
Monday, 29-Jul-13 03:57:39 UTC from web -
@scribus Hey man, I haven't written for... less than that.

@darkw00d Well, I'm working on a sci-fi novel. And that'll be part of a trilogy. Got ideas for horror and fantasy, too. Just wish this bus-driving-induced depression wasn't in my way.

@scribus Dude. I have a friend working on a book series. If you have a steam, you should send him a message.
Monday, 29-Jul-13 03:59:53 UTC from web-
@digitalspark I do not have Steam. #LinuxWoes
Monday, 29-Jul-13 04:01:00 UTC from web-
@scribus Ah. I should really get him on here. He has writers block atm
Monday, 29-Jul-13 04:01:58 UTC from web -
@scribus I thought they had Linux for steam now.

@commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese I dunno, I also don't computer game very much, so I just said "Neat!" and kept on not having a Steam. :p

@scribus Go for it, man! I'd love to read a book by you. You have great taste in literature too, so I'm sure it would turn out nice.

@darkw00d My last take on horror turned much more comedy/drama, but I still like how it ended up.

@darkw00d There's, like, a grand total of 3,500 words of totally unrelated stuff from years ago on justinbremer.com. Anything recent-er, I have yet to put out there.

@scribus I'm not going to follow this thing or anything, duhuhu. http://ur1.ca/et0dl
Monday, 29-Jul-13 04:11:46 UTC from web-
@anarchycarcino It would be less (more?) an issue if there was ever much there to be followed.

@scribus Shhh. Only stalking now.
