@scoot Pony Tunes?
Monday, 29-Jul-13 02:00:51 UTC from web-
@digitalspark The Scientist by Coldplay. I like sad music
-
@scoot never heard it. Maybe i'll give it a listen. I have been singing Smile Smile Smile for a while.
-
@scoot If you like sad music, give this a try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4XevlloPY4
-
@digitalspark It's basically a complete tonal opposite of that
-
@scoot Why not listen to something more happy?
-
@digitalspark That is for happy people
-
@scoot Nope. Nit's a song that makes you happy :)
-
@digitalspark I don't think... That's how it works
-
@northernnarwhal I'm enjoying this so far
-
@scoot Yes it is. Pony songs are feel good songs. Just listen to Smile, Smile, Smile, and i'm sure you'll feel better.
-
@digitalspark I promise you that you're wrong
-
@digitalspark seriously
-
@scoot Ok then. Let's test this. Listen to it.
-
@scoot I absolutely love Steven Wilson. It's a shame he's never really had any commercial success, he's a great songwriter.
-
@rarity Seriously. It always makes me feel better :D
-
@northernnarwhal It's good, it's not the best sad music for me because it doesn't quite hit the right chord with me, but I certainly appreciate it and I'll check more out
-
@digitalspark Well, good for you.
-
@scoot that being said 5:04 onwards is really great
-
@digitalspark I'm not going to do that. Shifting me from my sad music to such an upbeat melody would probably have some adverse effects I'd like to avoid
-
@rarity It is. I just don't see how it's hard to believe. Most pony music makes me feel better if i'm feeling down.
-
@scoot Then how will we know if it'll make you feel better?
-
@digitalspark We just know.
-
@scoot Really? This song left me feeling rather emotional. Beautiful lyrics as well. I guess it all depends on the listener. I've always been on the fence about Coldplay, but I like a few songs (The Scientist, Clocks, etc.)
-
@scoot -_-. I'm just trying to help, you know?
-
@digitalspark Not everyone works the same, remember that.
-
@northernnarwhal I'm not listening to them to feel anything, I'm listening to them because I already feel down and they just agree with me in such a perfect way
-
@digitalspark Yes but I said it wasn't a good idea literally from the beginning
-
@bowandlyre Course I know that. But I don't like seeing people sad, and I want to try and help however I can.
-
@digitalspark Sometimes it's best to let the person figure it out themseleves than to get involved.
William likes this. -
@scoot Well, you know you better than I do. I just wanted to help.
-
@bowandlyre Thank you, by the way.
-
@scoot I just listen to Steven Wilson because I really like Porcupine Tree. This song is from his solo album, and the first time I heard it I felt rather moved on an emotional level.
-
@bowandlyre Maybe. But until apparent, I will try to help. Call it a flaw. Maybe it is. BUt it's part of my character.
-
@scoot It's alright.
-
@bowandlyre why hello there
-
@digitalspark Odd question but do you like cars and canada?
-
@octaviapus Hello new guy.
-
@bowandlyre No and sorta. Canada is a pretty cool place, even if I don't live there. Cars are OK, but i'm not a car guy.
-
@digitalspark alrighty.
-
@bowandlyre Hi! I like your avatar. looks like you're giving me bedroom eyes >.>
-
@northernnarwhal Rarely do I feel like I need music to move me, I am already emotionally similar to a car crash, so really just listening to music that seems to fit the way I feel is just super important to me.
-
@scoot Sorry about that. Different people, and me trying to help didn't help.
-
@octaviapus I like her too. She's mitsuru kirijo from Persona 3.
-
@bowandlyre May I ask why you asked?
-
@digitalspark Something I have learnt is that people like to ask for help or help themselves, usually thrusting help unto someone can really get them riled up and defensive though, so you should really re-evaluate that approach
-
@scoot There was a point in my life where a lot of really awful stuff happened in my family, and long story short I got really depressed. I spent lots of time by myself, and I eventually found solitude in music. I would listen to it and play along as best as I could. I eventually started taking drum lessons and teaching myself piano, and I sort of formed a connection to music in general. There are a few songs I can think of that touch me on an emotional level, but I also listen to music for the sake of quality musicianship.
-
@scoot I really do need to. And I am sorry that I tried to force help on you.
-
@digitalspark you could have been insanely best friends with @Vt3c dude loves making people happy, hugs, cars and canada.
-
@bowandlyre I like three of those things
-
@bowandlyre #HugsArebest one cannot deny it
-
@bowandlyre Is my avatar better now?
-
@octaviapus Oh yes, Oh yes it is.
-
@octaviapus Hold on. Is that a Code Geass character?
-
@digitalspark Amen to that.
-
@digitalspark yup
-
@bowandlyre I know I do :D
-
@octaviapus You a fan?
-
@digitalspark I've only seen the series twice through now...
-
@octaviapus Oh hey corpse princess
-
@octaviapus Recently finished it for the first time after binging. Literally the anime that made me come closest to crying. And I watched Angel Beats!
-
@northernnarwhal I wish I could say that being down and listening to so much music that resonated with that had taught me how to play music or something cool but instead I just made bad art and then got sad about how my art was bad and then put myself in an infinite loop. I'm kind of a lot more pathetic than you are in that respect for sure. I have a different connection to music whereby it was my first retreat whenever things got bad because they would just drown out everything else going on around me and I'd just sort of live in the song for a bit.
-
@nerthos It's actually Princess Massacre.
-
@scoot Considering that I can barely draw a stick figure, I'm sure anything you would draw would make me seem pathetic. We all have different ways of expressing ourselves, I guess...
-
thx
-
@northernnarwhal I guess so. I get that specific reaction a lot but the only reason I can draw anything is because I just sort of keep doing it, even if I only like about 5% of what I end up with.
-
@digitalspark Yep, that too.
-
@nerthos Oh god that episode series gave me so many FEELZ!
-
@digitalspark The show was pretty cool. The existance on Nunally kind of screwed up everything though.
-
@scoot Fair enough. I think it's good to be able to criticise yourself, though, because it means you're acknowledging room for improvement and wanting to better yourself.
-
@nerthos A bit. But season two killed of characters mercilessly, and I love when stories aren't afraid to kill of characters.
-
@northernnarwhal I am, perhaps, too critical. But oh well that is my burden to bear
-
@scoot My drum teacher always tells me that I tend to get too critical of my playing, and that I need to spend less time worrying about screwing up some syncopated note or fill and spend more time enjoying myself behind the kit.
-
@northernnarwhal I wonder if there is something to this then, see if it is a trend
-
@scoot It would seem like it, most people tend to be critical of their own abilities, unless they know they're great at something or are just totally egotistical.
-
