@pony If it went on indefinitely they'd lose all the money. They made Twilight a Princess specifically because selling the same six ponies over and over again wasn't a profitable plan.

@thelastgherkin They've expanded to popular background ponies successfully, but yeah I get what you're saying. I think I disagree still. Look at newborn cuties and gen 3 generally. I can't believe that those episodes brought their toys any extra sales. I think they were riding on what parents remembered about gen 1 and maybe 2. If they change again, sure they'll get different ponies, but, unless the style stays the same, future parents will be disappointed I think
